This is why we will lose to the Left though if we are not more pro-active.

When the Left wants something they at least are pro-active about trying to get it done. Their methodology along the way is questionable at best, but they take action.

The Right often clearly wants something done and then they only talk about it, not enough action.

I do think peaceful protests towards some of these things are worth considering seriously.

A.) Draws attention to the matter.

B.) Provides contrast with rioting Democrat protests.

We’re winning with people but if fraud is allowed then that’s an issue. Must be stopped at all costs.

7
ohheyitsherbyj 7 points ago +7 / -0

I agree. I would say that conservatives are at a disadvantage when it comes to this as we often have families that rely on us for financial/emotional support. Most leftists you see at these events don't even have jobs, let alone families, so they essentially have nothing to lose. I agree that we need to be involved more, it's just never going to be as easy for us unfortunately.

Wtf_socialismreally 7 points ago +7 / -0

The left is bolstered by going unpunished.

The same thing doesn't happen to us.

So I assume when things break, they'll break hard.

2
honda_fast 2 points ago +2 / -0

Like when do we have time to go to a protest? We all have jobs and work for a living.

23
Konsaki 23 points ago +24 / -1

The Executive branch can't 'demand' anything of the Judicial branch. It's one of the core pillars of the separation of powers. Hence why GOP 'asks' the SCOTUS for a ruling.

16
Irish_Wolfhound 16 points ago +17 / -1

The GOP is perfectly capable of rallying CITIZENS who can "demand" many things, specifically when they protest in front of the courthouse. Hence the entirety of my post, not just one word.

6
anikom15 6 points ago +9 / -3

What is a protest going to do? Justices are appointed for life. They don’t care (or shouldn’t) what anyone thinks.

2
Irish_Wolfhound 2 points ago +2 / -0

If the justices have zero disregard for the will of the people they are supposed to be representing when it comes to the application of laws, thats kind of an important thing to maybe get out in the open?

3
anikom15 3 points ago +5 / -2

They are not representatives. That’s what the House is for.

Have you ever read The Federalist Papers?

2
Irish_Wolfhound 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have. I'm very familiar with the concept of separation of powers, despite what some people apparently think my statement shows a lack of. My question is, what part of the mail-in voter fraud would represent either the law or the will of the people? The consent of the governed being essential to the existence of a government, if I remember correctly?

So maybe I should ask have YOU read The Constitution?

2
TexasJack 2 points ago +2 / -0

They are supposed to have a regard for the will of the people as it is expressed in the laws passed by the people's elected representatives.

They are not supposed to pay attention to protests.

2
Irish_Wolfhound 2 points ago +2 / -0

They should pay attention to the will of the people. They are supposed to check the laws, and if Congress passed a law that went directly against the will of the people, the Courts obviously should serve as a check by overturning said law in order to preserve the union and avoid 1776 Part II.

5
bjjmike69 5 points ago +5 / -0

They already are and Barr needs to get on this.

Because I'm going to be honest: He talks a big game about getting back into this to protect the integrity of the election, because the left's games have caused a rift in the country, yet he doesn't do anything about it.

We see so many things happening from the left, and nothing gets done.

Maybe this great experiment was a mistake. Maybe a monarchy really is the way to go, because at least they get to do something decisively.

Roberts is surprising conservative on this type of issue. Remember, these rules were extended by the federal or state judiciary not the state legislature. Giving the courts this power to randomly extend the election date is a separation of powers issue, and he's very hesitant to grant courts new power. If there are 4 conservatives who vote to strike down these blatant abuses of power, Roberts will almost certainly side with them in order to avoid a 4-4 split.

2
TexasJack 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agreed. If something like Covid popped up the week before the election, courts could make the argument that there is no time for the state legislature to consider extending the deadlines.

That argument won't wash here. There has been ample time for legislatures to act if they chose to do so. If they choose not to act, it's not the court's place to do it for them.

2
Forgototherpassword 2 points ago +2 / -0

Republicans: This election has overtaken the news, everyone is aware of it. There is no reason for late ballots, except for fraud. Send them early, its the law!

Democrats: According to this transblacksnowflakeweedeater professor, doing things on time is white privilege.

Why isnt the Pennsylvania legislature (controlled by GOP) having a hearing about this? Mark Levin talked about this on his show, according to federal law the state legislature sets the rules for the state's elections. They can declare the state Supreme Court's decision null and void without the Governor's signature.

24
Olds77 24 points ago +24 / -0

The GOP is as bad as the Democrats in much of PA. Connor Lamb won because he was up against a bad, establishment Republican that never did anything and our Governor had the weakest opponent I'd ever seen. His ads were beyond pathetic and he was running on nothing. Lynn Swan should have won against Rendell, but rather than side with the Furious PA residents who were upset at bipartisan corruption and theft he fell in line and supported corrupt Republicans which gave away the biggest reason to vote for him.

12
NonDegenerate 12 points ago +12 / -0

There is so much happening in PA that it is difficult to pivot and condense all of the PA-GOP's focus on each issue. Governor Wolf has been attempting to force the State to participate in a "cap-and-trade" carbon taxing scheme (RGGI) that would destroy the oil, gas, and coal industry. His lockdown COVID orders are insane, but reliant on at least 2 pieces of legislation that have proven difficult to combat through legislative or judicial means. He vetoes literally everything, and democrats ALWAYS support his vetoes so overrides have proven impossible. It was thought that our election laws were safe because the law itself is pretty straightforward, but liberal judges have said that because PA laws don't explicitly disallow ballot collection boxes and extended timelines then they are totally kosher.

Honestly there is just a lot to fight all at once on multiple fronts. 12 months ago the legislature could have never imagined this much lawlessness and "reinterpretation" of century old tradition and practice. With each passing day it is looking like traditional legislative means to achieve democratic goals are becoming more and more worthless.

5
Rufus_Shinra 5 points ago +5 / -0

Tyrants need to be removed from power or it only gets worse. Tyrants should fear the people, or they only become more emboldened and more corrupt.

2
ListenHereFat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wolf is the definition of emboldened. Almost as much as Whitmer, yet for some reason he doesn’t catch nearly enough flack from the public for his bull shit

10
Rightisright 10 points ago +10 / -0

The PA GOP doesn't have the votes to override vetos and the fucking governor vetos everything.

7
NonDegenerate 7 points ago +7 / -0

Even when the PA GOP "has the votes" the Dems that initially voted in favor of a bill will switch their vote just to appease the Governor and enable the veto to succeed.

The Governor will be handed a bill, veto it, and then enact the language of the bill via executive order so that he can take all the credit. He's done that on a few occasions, most notably when he initially banned new construction because of COVID, a bill passed the legislature to re-allow construction, he vetoes it, and a few days later he puts out an order re-allowing construction in PA. Gov. Wolf is a tyrant.

2
Rightisright 2 points ago +2 / -0

Your right. I’m hoping the only good that comes out of dictator Wolf’s actions is a landslide in November.

5
FireannDireach 5 points ago +5 / -0

Because the GOP are politicians. Nobody wants to stick their neck out, because they might lose their next race, and the governmental money train ends.

I've seen the same thing in every corporation I've worked in - having to sit through endless HR puppet shows about what we shouldn't do - all the while knowing managers and executives who do all of it, but nobody wants to stick their neck out, so they hunker down in their cubicles and don't say shit.

And, it's not unique to conservatives. Libs can speak out too - like when the DNC fucks over Bernie TWICE. Or when they run a senior citizen with dementia. Or when they install a literal whore who was the worst polling candidate in the primaries as VP.

Too early to do that, it's a 4-4 court. They're just going to kick it back.

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

How can they? It's time sensitive to say the least. There's no rule that says a 4-4 court can't vote. SCOTUS minus Scalia decided several cases.

5
AbrahamLincoln 5 points ago +5 / -0

The 4-4 court will vote, it'll be 4-4, and the lower court's decision will stand.

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

They will cheat the election then call trump a tyrant dictator refusing to leave office.

It’s kinda gotten me down in the dumps bc it’s clear that no amount of actual evidence of cheating will be enough. They can and do get away with whatever they want.

Republicans: Do what we are supposed to (generally) using traditional, ethical, and legal methods. We don't need to use the courts if we just follow the law.

So if you submit it on November 3rd 23:59 EST it means we have to wait a long time before all the ballots are counted.
