Even with a hired gun doing the books for you (they are cheap, FYI) most of us wage slaves don't stand to benefit from the tax code as it is written. You have to make enough to itemize your deductions at the bare minimum, and then you must generate said deductables. Easy when you control a separate corporate entity, not so easy when you work for a salary and donate a few changes of clothes to GoodWill every year.
