Well, we know the video released doesn't really jibe with the story that came out about him originally. He wasn't barricaded in his house, he wasn't armed, and he wasn't in a standoff with police. He was having a polite conversation with a cop at the end of his driveway when some other cop came and tackled him for no apparent reason. The police need to justify to the public why they did that.
Yeah, it was a "standoff" in that he was "Standing off" about 5 feet from the officer.
The whole, sitting shirtless on your front porch, drinking beer in the afternoon thing is not a good look. But he was 100% calm. Hands in plain sight. No reason for the tackle.
However, he didn't fight. Didn't try to grab anyone's gun. Didn't try to run, and thus, didn't get shot. A good lesson!
