I guess it would depend where the bruises were, I'm not defending anybody because I wasn't there obviously, but if a woman takes a fit and starts swinging at you, you're going to block and try to grab her arms. That would cause bruising more likely around the forearms and wrists. I presume that if the bruising was from the biceps to the shoulders, for me that would be a more aggressive position for the man as he's trying to handle her. My two cents worth.
A movie I saw a long time ago with Mark Wahlberg where he bashes the fuck out of himself in the chest and blames the bruising on his girlfriend's father. And you have the same kind of thing in Fight Club where Edward Norton beats himself up and blames it on his boss. So yeah, you're 100% on, witnesses count a lot.
According to the report she had noticeable bruises on her arms. I didn’t see any in the single photo we’ve seen, but that’s why I mentioned it.

I’m to the point where bruises alone aren’t enough. I need corroboration from a witness or a video. Can’t be ruining a man’s life without proof.
