Everyone has their own comforts. I personally love getting away from technology and people. Last time 2 friends and I camped it rained most of the time and we still had a great time. Yes it's better when it's nice out, but it's often a roll of the dice.
It depends on the umbrella really. There are pocket umbrellas that fold flat and are only about the size of a cell phone now. If you bring a traditional, heavy umbrella that's gonna be a really bad choice for a long trip - but a pocket umbrella weighing a couple ounces actually has a lot of uses and is a pretty great carry item.
To be clear, I've gone backpacking, camping and hiking many, many times in my life as well as had some wilderness survival training. I could probably survive with just knife, or even nothing at all (if the conditions were perfect). But of all the things you could bring into the wild, at a couple ounces, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a pocket umbrella. You could use it for shelter, shade, keeping yourself dry or collecting rain and probably many other things.
Wow these people are beta soft and think they are better than us. What little bitches. Packing an umbrella on a hike...
I liked the one that didn't zip up their tent, and woke up soaking wet.

Even their analogies are pussy
TBH, I dislike camping or sleeping outdoors unless it is warm and dry.
Any other time, you might as well be a homeless person.

I just turn off my electronics and go outside around the house.

Carrying an umbrella occupies a hand that should be busy killing communists.
Owning an umbrella is an admission of failure as a human being.
