I was thinking exactly that! So long as streaming is counted... I haven't had tv in over a decade, and I bet many of us here don't either.

Is this true or are we just making predictions? What is the most-watched event as of today?

TD.win is going to go down tonight due to overload of users. Which sucks because chatting during these live events is the most enjoyable part of this site.

I had to duckduckgo it. My first guess would've been moon landing (650 million) but turns out it was 1996 summer olympics opening ceremony w 3.5 billion viewers, followed by muhammad ali matches, then princess diana's funeral (2B), followed by a bunch of Superbowls and other sporting events.

I'd be willing to bet we break 2 billion viewers worldwide tonight though, easy. Maybe we top 3.5B and actually make it to the top!

Wiki says London and Rio olympic opening tied at 3.6B. Most of the top ones are the Olympics and FIFA, along with a few royal weddings, 9/11, and MJ's funeral.

I honestly thought MASH finale was the highest viewed event for some reason.

Just looked up MASH and it held the record at 103M views from 1983 until 2010 Superbowl, and then every superbowl after that now.

in just the US it's Apollo 11 with between 125-150 million. 60-70% of every man, woman, and child in the country.

Don't think we will be seeing that unless we get every man, woman, child, xe, FTM, MTF, intersex, transaged person to watch.
