RedditIs4Retards 30 points ago +31 / -1

That's the Republican motto...

"Soon, but not yet!"

20
ZacPetkanas 20 points ago +21 / -1

Yup. Same old song and dance. The Republicans always have some excuse on why they can't deliver on their promises.

"We need the House"

"We need the Senate"

"We need a veto proof Senate and House"

"We need the White House too, so we don't have to worry about vetoes"

"Hey, why don't you fill out this 'survey' and when you mail it back include a check to the RNC, eh?"

I have only realized recently that there were so many who that seriously. I never thought of it as a real pledge. Apparently other people saw it differently.

21
NvJohansson 21 points ago +23 / -2

Yup, the only thing that ever comes close to that was the 1988 VP debate between Dan Quayle and Lloyd Bentsen.

"I knew Jack Kennedy, and you sir are no Jack Kennedy"

20
zipodk 20 points ago +20 / -0

Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy.

13
ZacPetkanas 13 points ago +13 / -0

Very true.

Quayle was loyal to his wife, didn't run the country high on shots from Dr. Feelgood, and his family money wasn't from bootlegging.

18
BroRogan 18 points ago +19 / -1

No way pede! “Only Rosie O’Donnell” was clearly the greatest debate moment in history!

11

Trump was practicing for presidential debates on Twitter with punching bags like Rosie years in advance.

Is that a monitor she is looking at? Why am i just hearing about this now?

41
RaymondBPanelli 41 points ago +43 / -2

It was speculated, but I think the general consensus was that it's just a bar for lighting. There's a video from behind the podiums where you can see it coming on as the lights go up.

53
williammcfadden 53 points ago +53 / -0

Polarized contact lenses. Changes the white screen to scrolling text. After the debate someone immediately reached into the podium and pulled out the projector.

But why wasn't there one on Trump's podium? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvRfyc7b7-k

Probably because certain people look better under different lighting. Edit: Also Trump is taller.

God's love for us didn't stop Nazi Germany from happening and it won't stop the end of the world from coming

7
Rainman 7 points ago +8 / -1

No but Godly inspired men like my father helped stop Nazi Germany.

What do you think most American soldiers of that era were inspired by?

It wasn't politicians, it was largely their faith in GOD and doing the right thing in the eyes of God.

Even George Washington declared the influence of God on the success of his army.

The Hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.

2
RedditIs4Retards 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are you telling me the Bible isn't gonna be fulfilled? Because giving Jews freedom and land was just another fulfillment of God's true and holy word.

Isaiah 11:12

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Is revelations just a non-existing book?

4
Rainman 4 points ago +5 / -1

I was referring to God's influence on Trump within the confines of the debate tonight not the second coming of Christ that's been foretold. Nothing is changing that but in the meantime, I'd really like Trump to prevail in the debate so Americans can prosper and who knows maybe return to God to thank him for their blessings

33
formerlibtard 33 points ago +35 / -2

I voted for Trump in 2016. I will not be voting for him in November. Back in 2016 I was promised that we would be catapulting Mexicans over a giant wall, electrocuting gays, putting Muslims in concentration camps, exterminating minorities, bombing countries across the world and using women for breeding purposes only.

So far NONE of that has happened. In fact, he's been doing the complete opposite. WTF CNN?!?!

Blow Biden can't read a teleprompter correctly. He can't recite the 31 word pledge of allegiance correctly. I don't know how any earpiece or polarized text reader is going to help him.

5
MaxineWaters4Prez 5 points ago +5 / -0

Biden can't read a teleprompter. I think this tactic would be glaringly obvious.

18
ontothefuture 18 points ago +18 / -0

Alleged hidden teleprompter.

11
7
DX5_ 7 points ago +7 / -0

Is there any innocent explanation to this? Maybe it's a light to make her look better, but why does it turn on as soon as she walks up to it and off as soon as she walks away? That's a bit over-engineered for a basic light.

7
Jefferson 7 points ago +7 / -0

If I was Hillary, I would say it was the lighting. They turned her spot light on and off as she moved towards and away from her podium.

She also “won” according to the media. Sad!

5
Dirk_Diggler 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yup, just another byproduct of the "everyone gets a trophy" generation. She "won" just for participating.

3
Necrostic 3 points ago +4 / -1

CNN is already writing the headline, "Biden wins first debate"

4
mateus 4 points ago +4 / -0

LOL All Biden has to do is show up and not keel over. That's how low the media has set the bar. And when he starts getting mean and cantankerous, they'll say he "went on the attack."

It's already funny.

7
2020REBOUND 7 points ago +7 / -0

Imagine Biden having some campaign tard in his ear and from the other Trump

7
Prehistoric_MAGA 7 points ago +9 / -2

And she is very intelligent. Love her or hate her, she’s sharp as a tack. Still wasn’t enough. Because she didn’t speak the truth. This is why none of these people stand a chance against Trump. Not Biden, Hillary, or any of the republicans in the primaries. While everyone else searches for the right thing to say, according to the polling, according to how media etc will react, our president speaks the truth and let’s the cards fall where they may. It’s that simple.

8
williammcfadden 8 points ago +8 / -0

Actually just a psychopath. When you're willing to break any law, remove any competition, silence anyone who knows, sell access to this country, you then amass power. But justice rides a slow horse and she lost it all.

She was fired from the Watergate legal team and the leader warned the nation about her.

2

3
inamorato79 3 points ago +3 / -0

First I've heard about the alleged screen in the podium, but I wouldn't put it past them. These people (Media/Dems) are beyond corrupt. They're straight up evil. I remember seeing a video at the time showing possible coordination between Lester Holte and Hillary where he'd ask for her to respond to Trump's answer whenever she gave him a hand signal.

2
Jsmitty112 2 points ago +2 / -0

President Trump is also a genius!!!!!

2
G_regulator 2 points ago +2 / -0

The one thing that could hurt Trump is he doesn't have as unified policy platform as he did in 2016. Having said that Biden doesn't have a policy platform at all so I think Biden is going to get destroys and their going to cancel the next two debates.

I think there's far more enthusiasm for Trump now than there was in 2016. There's several people in my life who were basically oblivious to politics then that now watch Tucker every night and tell me what's going on.

1
I_SEES_You 1 point ago +1 / -0

In all honesty, I agree with Jordan Peterson. GEOTUS didn't win, Hillary lost. She was unbelievably arrogant, had a shit campaign, never bothered to campaign in several "blue wall" states, and was reckless with her corruption because she felt that there was no way she could lose.

The more information comes out, the more obvious it is that Donald Trump wasn't supposed to win. The naked corruption from the FBI, from campaign staffers and advisors, from the cabinet of the former president, from the media, from the entire swamp, bold as hell even by their standards, was supposed to be swept under the rug by a comfortable Hillary victory.

They never anticipated Julian Assange. They never anticipated Wikileaks. And they never anticipated the American people would get fed up with it. Make no mistake, they're terrified. Just remember that an animal is most dangerous when its cornered. The swamp is prepared to burn this country to the ground before accepting defeat.

Look how dark that back drop is. Compare it to tonight. They messed with the color dials to make Trump look orange as fuck. Biden looked so pale, the back drop looked almost cyan.

1
DaemonKrog 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just looks like a stage light got turned on and it was a reflection. As the light fades out you can see the red tone of the wood again. However, this said.. I wouldn't doubt that they would do something like this.

1

1
DaemonKrog 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I watched this earlier. You can see a bit of her hair go darker at the same time as it's being turned off too. Pretty sure this is just stage lighting reflecting off the podium. I worked in events for a little over 10 years, and that's the right timing and speed (how long it takes to turn off) of a spotlight being turned off after a stage event is finished.
