Hey mods, do you have the ability to IP block from the site? You've had a shill here for 2 days just making new accounts and trying to spread malware.

Thats not what im saying. Im not talking about the guy making the account. im talking about banning the DNS address(the name) of the websites they keep trying to send people too, from being able to be posted. They've been using like the same 3. Then they can make as many accounts they want under as many IPs as they want, but it wont matter cause posting to that link wont work. Itll make them work harder than just being able to create a new account under another IP

Agreed, but IP is a start.

IP blocking is like swatting one fly in a swarm and calling it "a start"

It doesn't really do shit.

While I get what you are saying, understand that it IS a start. That swarm has 1 less fly in it.

Would you have a suggestion, or did you just post to talk shit with a horrible analogy?

My suggestion is let the admins take care of it because they are the only ones who can do it and I can absolutely guarantee you they aren't looking in a thread for advice on how to handle it.

I was just pointing out IP banning is worthless, so that maybe you and others could learn something. It would stop a 12 year old kid for a while but highly unlikely to stop anyone who would be running a phising operation.

Your idea of one fly being removed from a swarm might be the literal textbook definition of a start but it is intellectually dishonest to suggest that anyone would actually consider it meaningful progress in any way, which is what I was pointing out.

God bless

It's a false start. An IP block wouldn't stop determined shills for more than 5 minutes.

I'm for blocking certain links though.

There are levels. This won't be perfect but...

  • 1, Use your own likely static IP.
  • 2, Have a dynamic IP, deliberate or accidental.
  • 3, Just roam to escape IP ban.
  • 4, Go around rip off wireless.
  • 5, Open proxies.
  • 6, VPNs, dedis, etc.
  • 7, Go through bot net, exploited devices, servers, etc.
  • 8, Exploits can also proxy, hack a phone for example and also go through all the open wifis.
  • 9, Lots of ISPs use mega NAT in many places and cases so you end up with massive collateral.

It's easy when it's easy but when it's hard it's hard. These are people with big bucks so can afford to for example even if you got some malware they could be posting through your device and IP, who knows.

IP spoofing is unlikely on TCP but it's been known for internet routers to be hacked enough to do that too potentially. We know the intel community is compromised too and they potentially have the taps/hops to pick up SEQ/ACKSs and to inject or MIM among other things.

Not many people know this but they have root certs too often and can mess with HTTPS. Number one priority for them is to get the keys to the kingdom (master keys).

What site are they linking to?

11
Master_oYo [S] 11 points ago +11 / -0

it started with a bad blog post, full of nonsense that attempted to download directly to your system.

Now they are using forwarding sites.

I've been worried about clicking on independentsentine.site by messi. I usually look at the link before clicking, but I messed up on that one. Is that related to yours?

3
WassermanSchultz 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can you PM me the bad link? When I have a chance I want to open it in a VM and see what it's trying to do.

3
Master_oYo [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't have a copy saved anymore, and the mods have upped their game in deporting the freak.

If I can grab one, I'll send it your way. I can let you know that it attempts to download a file silently, that my VM quarantined immediately.

2
WassermanSchultz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks. I'll make a Linux VM with no antivirus protection. Not that Linux is really plagued with viruses anyway, but it's the safest. Can also use the wget command to force download of whatever they have going on.

I can do that, too - I was planning on running WireShark while I executed. Just need a link to da poopoo.

Fast.redirect

Can we get Mr. Chan? Maybe someone from his office. He is freinds of pepe

5
marsajane1949 5 points ago +5 / -0

He keeps posting to the same address though, can you block someone from posting if they try to post a post with that address?

5
Master_oYo [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

That is just the address that they are using now. They have cycled through like 5 different forwarding addresses.

4
marsajane1949 4 points ago +4 / -0

Block them all. The will keep having to get new domain names, and just block as they keep changing. make them work for it or have to spend more time and money

2
Master_oYo [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'd love to see it, but it seems the mods are having trouble even deporting this piece of shit.

1
Gobberwarts 1 point ago +1 / -0

BIG IF TRUE

3
marsajane1949 3 points ago +3 / -0

This way he can make all the new accounts he wants but he'll keep having to register new domains to send people too before being able to post.

4
magaandkag 4 points ago +5 / -1

I doubt there is any way to stop people from making new accounts with all the VPNs out there.

2
DNC_Ballot_QATeam 2 points ago +3 / -1

OP, mods have made a new icon for new accounts.

Could mods use VirusTotal.com to scan links for malware?

1
MeSewCorny 1 point ago +1 / -0

They could just bypass it with a VPN.

Threebabies 0 points ago +1 / -1

Ip blocking won't work. A VPN will bypass it. Thats how they get past the great Chinese firewall.
