I went through and pulled Biden clips from a lot of his Democrat Debates. There are indeed many different Joes that have appeared.
I'm going to say it. Neither Wallace or Biden beat Trump tonight, Trump beat himself. We are all voting for him. We know there are people who aren't open about it, too. There are still enough undecided voters that will give this round to Biden because Trump wasn't cool.
That being said, he didn't do great against Clinton the first debate then came back like Rocky. I think Trump assumed he could rattle Biden and will need to tap in to that steely eyed killer he did when he said "Because you'd be in jail."
If anything, this makes the debates more entertaining, but I am still pissed. I'm also aghast by some of Biden's comments. Calling Trump a "clown" on the debate stage had no class. I know it sounds odd since Trump can be a jerk... it just seemed like too much decorum was lost.
Unfortunately, I think you're right. Trump came in a bit too hot when he didn't have to. Biden was a bumbling fool - by drawing attention to himself, Trump took some of the attention from Biden's frailty and nonsense. Trump still won, I think, but not as cleanly as he could have.
I think Trump didn't buy the narrative that WE the supporters bought. Trump likes to assess his enemies before he takes them down. This was a test of how "gone" Biden REALLY is.
In hindsight, we overhyped Biden's dementia and made it seem like he couldn't function without a keeper. And maybe he also played hard to trick us and give us ammunition to make us lax so we could Clinton 2016 ourselves.
As a Trump supporter, Biden preaching to the camera was patronizing, calling Trump a clown/racist/liar was classless, and I cringed when Biden looked like he was about to cry when talking about his son.
Her's the deal, the Dems, and some undecided, will see it as passionate and shit.
