Wallace also clearly had orders to get Trump to shut up about Ukraine and Hunter Biden.

and orders to lay out the plan for post-election chaos.

That was absolutely brutal....Joe and his base just got exposed, Trump threw out alot of insider material that probably got people scratching their heads, wondering why they didn't hear this on CNN.

The will quickly look it up on snopes and find out it’s mostly false.

Of course the problem is if they respond to it then they just expose it more.

CNN's fact check to Hunter Biden getting Moscow money is "lacks context". Same fact check when Biden called Trump xenophobic for closing travel with China. "Lacks context". Lol what.

I've got your context right here, ya lying dog faced pony soldiers.

CNN thinks they're the authority and the final say. My final say is that a majority of Americans turn off CNN.

Wallace helped us immensely. Having to help protect Biden against the President did Joe no favors. It’s like getting in a fight in grade school and a girl comes in to help you. Wallace just castrated Joe by helping him.

That was my thought too, but I still feel like he missed a bunch of chances to knock him out with strong data points. Like the church thing. Should've countered the peaceful protest line and said the whole reason he went to the church was because they tried to burn it down.

Miasmo 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah, he missed one there. Biden actually called what happened in D.C. the night before "peaceful". Crazy.

In hindsight, every debate is a series of missed opportunities.

Keep in mind too, in 2016 Trump objectively wasn't very good in the first debate. He was better in the 2nd, and dynamite in the 3rd, even with his back against the wall from pussygate.

He did what he needed to do tonight.

Bigger_igloo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, I forgot about the first one last time. Itd be nice to actually hear policy debates, but know that's not really how these things work. Maybe in the future if we get a new generation of maga candidates. Typically, the right is far better at debating facts.

DestroyerofCobwebs 3 points ago +3 / -0

Believe me, I get it. Don't make the mistake of reading a transcript of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, then watching Idiocracy, it's a black pill combo punch.

Trump can't change our culture all by himself. He can beat Joe Biden.

The President is Alpha, and he needs to project that every chance he gets. The President of the free world bows to nobody. He wasn’t just participating in a debate, he was projecting his power to our enemies. In this context he could not sit back and be passive. I know Trump can make you feel uncomfortable but that is why he has been successful with economic and peace deals. This is the guy I want fighting for me. He takes care of the dirty business that nobody else will touch.

The only problem was the normies thought Trump was Billyish! I saw it but the wife didn't understand.

4
Bigger_igloo 4 points ago +4 / -0

The energy was strong, no doubt. But should've given Biden the rope to hang himself. Missed a few chances to prove him a liar, rather than just calling him one.

ByteKnight321 1 point ago +1 / -0

If we had a true moderator I think he would have done that.

1
Bigger_igloo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Certainly more so. I'd be irritated too after constant loaded questions.

It's just like a UFC fight.

Round 1: Throw wild shit out there and see how the opponent reacts.

Round 2: Make adjustments to your own strategy to take advantage of the weaknesses you saw in the first round.

Round 3: Opponent is struggling to cover their own ass while at the same time try to mount their own offensive which leaves them open for the finish.

Everyone was disappointed that they didn't get more of Biden hanging himself on his own dementia. I feel like in the next debate we'll see that plus the president getting more surgical with his attacks. Only wildcard here is the mobbed up ref.

The fact that Wallace had to save Biden from Orangeman Bad is probably the greatest outcome of the debate.

nanopercentcherokee 3 points ago +3 / -0

Biden must have been on some real heavy drugs not to bite in-between Wallace shutting GEOTUS down

No, the strategy was to separate Biden from the left wing base, i.e., Green New Deal, Medicare for all, Defund the Police. He did that. Choice was go for the 5-7% undecided in the middle or alleviate Biden of 25% of the most radical left.

I_Used_to_be_me 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think his plan was basically: he knew Biden was responding to pre-planned questions, and was thus doing everything he could to get him off topic or derailed from the highly coached and preplanned talking points and responses

Yup, Wallace was so one-sided it was ridiculous. Let ALL of Biden's MASSIVE lies go completely unchecked (and wouldn't let Trump respond to them), but called out Trump all the time for lying when he wasn't.

And what the hell with the NYT $750 tax question? Like... even a major MSM news anchor didn't read past the first sentence of that article where it in fact goes on to prove he paid millions in taxes those years?

2
Bedminster 2 points ago +2 / -0

100% correct. Wallace kept interrupting to stop Trump from making Biden looking like a jackass.

Agree, but I think after this Trump will be much better prepared to handle the moderators and Biden. Next debate will be very different.

Totally agree, Biden’s hot button seem to be his sons. I think if Trump kept pushing he would have exploded but Wallace kept protecting him.
