Remember this when thinking about these debates:

Most of the people who watch the whole thing live are already decided. Very few people are going to watch the full thing again, and most ‘normies’ only watched long enough to see some drama, see if Biden could talk, and get a ‘sense’ of the race.

From here on out, the vast majority of the viewing will be done using CLIPS, with ‘fact-checking’, gaffes, and meme-able material the most ‘viral’.

The MSN can be counted on to favor good Biden moments and ignore key Trump points.

So when Trump ‘acts out’, interrupts, doesn’t ‘go for the kill’ or ‘prove this point’, HE IS ACTUALLY FOLLOWING A SMART MEDIA STRATEGY. Neutral voters see that Trump was defending himself about lies, and it might be the first time they even considered that it might BE a lie at all. MSM clips that show Trump ‘raging’ end up prompting people to look up what he’s talking about. The ‘rudeness’ of constant interruptions doesn’t grate as much in clips, but the 2 v. 1 nature of the interactions shows through. And the pundits and wonks will comb through and do the fact-checking and side-by-sides, followup questions, and ‘proofs’, but only if Trump mentions an issue during the debate in a way that provokes curiosity.

When you consider it this way, our 5-D GEOTUS’s messaging task is a far different cry from a simple ‘debate’ — and a lot of his choices, timing on raising certain issues, topic focus, and overall strategy makes a great deal more sense. And he spoke directly to US at the end.

Remember when the MSM had a fit because Trump interrupted Hillary a lot (she did the same to him). But when Kaine kept interrupting Pence no one said a word.

He faltered on race

No, he didn't. That was an obvious Kafka trap and he made them both look stupid for asking it. Also CRT is racist, more people need to hear that.

Just gonna chime in, I don't think constructive criticism is always concern trolling. I know most people already made up their minds about voting, but I do know some people on the fence who let stupid optics like "muh unhinged, rude drumpf" affect their decision. Would have liked Trump to clarify the charlottesville stuff, and the double standard of dems saying "its only a few bad eggs causing violence in BLM riots" compared to the reality of only a few 'white supremists' existing in charlottesville. The dem response to blm riots is the same as trumps response to charlottesville (that there are good AND bad people involved, it isn't all one or the other) and tbh trumps response about charlottesvile back then WAS better than the dem response to the riots now (he explictly did condemn the kkk and WS back then, and then clarified that not everyone there was involved w those groups) but tonight he didn't clarify any of that (I know ideally he shouldnt even have to repeat himself like that, but we are up against fake news) so I think that was a mistake. So normies are prob gonna buy into 'he doesnt wanna condem le nazis!!"

it sucks because it shouldnt matter, but its what we have to deal with.

I respect your opinion but Trump's strategy was to divide biden's base, not grow his own. He simply went for the higher hanging fruit. It's okay that you disagree, I don't think you're a concern troll, but I can tell you living in a kind of weird democrat/conservative place that his strategy 100% worked. He didn't lose any of us, he divided Biden's base straight down the middle and he even won over some of the people who look at superficial optics that you're talking about (not on this specific issue, but on hunter and a couple other things). The media may be talking about this issue but it wasn't THE watercooler issue people actually talked about irl. Just something to consider.

I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the White nationalists, because they should be condemned totally." - President Donald J. Trump

Ghod how I wish the naked FUCK he had said this. He let Wallace Biden ride the fine-people hoax like Gandalf gliding astride Shadowfax. About this item Scott Adams is right. It is the worst, most egregious and disgusting political hoax in history.

Wish he'd defended himself there against the disgusting charge of racism, and reminded Wallace Biden about the lowest black unemployment and highest labor participation in history, the 10-year funding for black colleges, the urban Opportunity Zones, maybe a touching mini story or two about folks he's hosted at the White House House whose black lives he helped change for the better. That's called actually helping the people, not just flapping your gums about it for half a century.

Also, telling the president of the United States to "shut up" in a debate isn't presidential.

And it isn't winning the debate.
