I think Bidens strategy of powering through, often stumbling, and looking directly to the camera worked. Not for the substance, but it did well in boxing or framing Trump out of the discussion. The optics of which make him seem on the outside of the conversation. Looking directly to the camera is something Trump needs to focus on next time.

You can say that but also if you pay attention trump clearly had the better body attitude. Biden barely looked at trump ever and was often looking straight down whe. He wasn't busy trying to talk to chris wallace about how trump couldn't shut his mouth in an attempt to derail the debate and not have to answer questions

Agreed about looking to the camera occasionally. He also needs to dial down his facial expressions, and just give a straight, strong delivery.

He did make direct eye contact a few times when Biden was pushing his most egregious lies. It made me laugh bc he'd stare straight ahead like "can you fucking believe this?"

I think Trump was too focused on shaking Biden up, rattling his confidence. It seemed to work in the beginning, but as the debate went on, like I said it just made Trump seem to be on the outside.

It's ok to admit Trump wasn't as strong as we expected/hoped and that Biden came out stronger than we expected/hoped. It was still a massive win for Trump, this was basically BEST case scenario for Biden.
