Biden over performed. Maybe it was extra drugs, maybe it was months of practice, maybe it was the bar being so low, but the reality is he did better than we all thought he would-- he finished his sentences like a big boy and didnt fuck up too much.

That being said, all biden did was lie or give bullshit non answers.. but Wallace AND trump let him go.

  • No answer at all on packing the courts. Trump pushed this but Wallace ended it immediately. Wallace was seen later going back and forth with trump, so this is bullshit

  • Biden repeated leftist revisionist history that trump "knew coronavirus was bad and didnt do anything". Trump mentioned it once that he closed the border and was called racist for it. But biden went back to saying he didnt do anything two or three times-- and trump didnt say anything. This was a huge loss. Trump should have hammered the point that he was the first person in the world to take action, and he was chastised by the WHO, CDC, the left etc for it. Trump failed to drive this home. Wallace did not tell joe biden, hey, not for nothing, but trump closed the border and you were against it (yet Wallace did this shit to Trump during the economy and mail in ballots)

  • For how aggressive Trump was, having no comment whatsoever at being called a liar and a clown... that was weird.

-Wallace asking trump if he denounces white supremacist groups WHILE THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN UNDER ATTACK FROM LEFTIST GROUPS FOR MONTHS. Was fucking horseshit. Wallace did not ask biden if he denonces far left groups, he let "antifa is an idea" slide, and Wallace didnt bring up the fact that biden IGNORED the violence happening and didnt say a word until his poll numbers dropped.

  • both trump and Wallace let the "fine people" lie, one of the biggest lies ever, slide.

-Trump had all the ammo on the world on mail in ballots and he didnt take the shots. His general point that its a disaster is right-- but the people need to know why. He didnt bring up that voter rolls are never updated, thus are a mess with people who moved, who have died, etc, so it makes no sense to do this a few months before the election. He didnt give specific examples (other than the recent PA one), instead choosing to say "look whats happening in this state, that state". The issue here is Trump thinks hes speaking to his people, to TD. Hes not. This isnt a rally of his. A lot of people watching are clueless. Most people dont know that NJ has to re do their election due to mail in fraud where 3 Democrats got arrested and charged. They dont know thousands of ballots were found laying around uncounted in Mass, which lead the town clerk to resigning. They dont know Dallas has an investigation into voter fraud after more issues that ever. That liberal CBS experimented in the failure rate of mail in ballots and they acknowledged it was high. That in PA duplicate ballots were sent out to voters. That dead cats are getting ballots. That ballots for x state showed up in y state (forgot which one)

This is a very serious issue, one that decides the election and decides whether we lose america. Trump needed to hit a home run here and fire off these examples. Sadly, he didnt. This "without proof trump claims its not safe" is BULLSHIT. Joe biden saying its safe trumps trying to make sure your vote doesnt count is BULLSHIT. Wallace not saying that a lot of problems have came from mail in ballots and there certainly are issues is BULLSHIT.

Biden over performed. Trump underperformed. Wallace was an arm of the left. Trump won the debate if you knew the issues. But if you didnt know the issues, you were undecided, and believed all of joe bidens lies because Wallace didnt call him out and trump didnt defend himself harder... biden might be who you thought won. Ill get downvotes for this but I want to emphasize how much trump underperformed. He needs to do a lot better next time.

Edit- 33 upvotes, 3 downvotes.. and this got me banned

for your point about the "liar, clown" under breaths, I think we heard it because of the audio setup. Joe's voice was pretty low energy in his denials and insults. I don't know if President Trump heard it because he was the one speaking, and Joe was just muttering under his breath/into his side's microphone.

I think you summed it up best. And unlike the left, we should acknowledge when we can do better and do better next time.

Counterpoint:

Trump did underperform, and Biden did far better than anyone expected, but Trump still won, hands down, even for people who didn't know the issues.

Calling Trump names did nothing to increase Biden's stock. It only made him look petty, which is probably why Trump didn't address it. At first thought, he absolutely should have, but his only opening was an appeal to decorum, and Wallace would've torn him to pieces if he'd brought up decorum, so the best move may have been not to play.

Trump didn't hit as hard as he could have, but that doesn't mean his punches didn't land. His strategy was to push Biden to the center, where he's been doing poorly. Biden's only hope of winning is to cheat. That requires the left to not only be compliant, but to be complicit. If Trump pushes Biden far enough to the center, the left will be demoralized, and enough may walk away from him as a candidate--not the leaders, but the boots on the ground--to make cheating a lot less viable.

Trump still scored hits--getting Biden to flip flop on the Green New Deal, driving home that he's opposed to law and order, and emphasizing that Biden would shut the country down again. Those won't play well with the center, but those were just icing on the cake. He stated his real goal with these debates when he said, "You just lost the left."

Without the left out in full force, Biden doesn't have a prayer.

I agree, alienation was probably the entire goal of the debate and on that he hit on the money. I think he’s pretty confident in his base given the primary numbers, so he didn’t do much to appeal to the base and did a lot of personal attacks on Biden in order to make him look weaker. I think it was a strategic move, we’ll see what happens come the next two debates but I believe this went well enough.

Totally agree. People here who adamantly shout that Trump definitely dominated as expected are being disingenuous. We have to be able to admit as a base when Trump falls short. Otherwise it’s the same as the Left, where no matter what happens our guy won. More importantly, we miss opportunities for improvement to win over swing voters.

That being said, I came into this debate expecting more or less what we got. Wallace shilling with biased questions was an inevitability, and Biden’s been “lidding” for a few days to prep for this. Trump may have slightly disappointed last night, but I have no doubt he understands timing and is well prepared in the coming month with more releases and attacks. We can’t expect him to blow his load debate 1 and give time for the opposition to regroup and rebound.

By November 3 people are thinking about the third debate, not the first one. I’m totally okay with the results of last night even admitting that to an unbiased and uninformed observer Biden likely came out on top. No biggie, and GEOTUS is almost certainly thinking the same way. In a sense, he has set the bar low for himself and can portray an even more confident and convincing set of arguments and facts in the coming weeks.

The calls for deportation in response to anyone with legitimate criticisms is fucking annoying and actively detrimental to the movement’s chance at swaying voters. Looking forward to those responses on this post.

100% agree and our base can be a bit toxic to normies sometimes when we need them not to. I understand this site is a never ending Trump Rally but it’s also the only place we can discuss MAGA events. It can get a little too rararah! At times and push good criticism down. I also think Trump very specifically did not talk about trade deals, peace deals, and a few other big cards to hold them in reserve for the last debate.
