They aren't wrong. They may get some voters, but honestly, people want to be fire something, not just against whoever. And everyone remembers how great the economy was before lockdowns.

Not that I have any sympathy for these people, but being someone who's supposed to make Biden and the Dem's look good has got to be one of the hardest jobs in America right now. It's like sculpting with dog crap, the best you can hope for is still a turd.

Thats hilarious because they are so delusional they dont know how to work without lying to a group of eager noobies so that the noobs do the work for them.

They have lost their “noob” base and now have to do their own dirty work.

Thats why their “everything” is in the shitter.

The last rational people have left the democrat plantation. Now its just criminals and crazies.

I tried to warn them about this about a decade ago, when they were starting their purges.

It's immensely gratifying to watch it happen.

I used to work in a place that had tons of useful idiots. Many of them left due to nepotism by the management promoting their friends. They promoted the “in crowd”. Now its biting them in the ass. Fucking commies.

Ima light a cigar and laugh this whole election.

They dug this grave. Im enjoying watching them fill it back up.

not surprising that Peter blames the amount of media and not the content in them. Of course that can't me be wrong, right? Or maybe there are more Trump supporters. Or maybe people see through the distortions and manipulation...Peter?

Like his alternative to the Green New Deal, I can see him at a meeting interrupting "Wait I have an idea! Why don't we call it...*spreads the billboard* Joe's Plan."

He even left Chris Wallace replyless with that one last night.

Future Presidents here, never come up with something vague at the first debate. At best it puts you in expert mode which isn't Joe, or at worst refer to the intro of the first Gremlins movie.

the intro of the first Gremlins movie.

The inventor father, on a business trip, enters a store in Chinatown and buys a Mogwai as a gift for his son.

Edit: I think you call this the opening scene. What was the intro?

1

I'd call that the intro, you know to Gizmo.

I was referring to the inventor soliciting his travel toothbrush.

Can you imagine the campaign managers’ (handlers) faces when Biden gets up there and sputters bullshit whole fumbling over every single word? Then he hobbles off stage and they have to say he did a great job. Anyone with eyes and a sense of reality would be facepalming so hard.

He won because conservatives never looked in the mirror to acknowledge their mistake(s).

They(and this country as a whole) was a woman who got out of an abusive, pump and dump relationship who instantly falls for a guy who treats her nicely...

Only to find out the next guy is a smooth talking conman.

As young as i was during Obama's "rise," i was suspicious at the lack of criticism and mudslinging that occurred...

But conservatives and the entire country just swallowed for him...It was truly pathetic honestly

I’m waking up, I threw a party last night and I had a split crowd, just to make it interesting. I still cannot believe what happened. I’m re-watching it now, and holy shit, it was better than I even expected. If some of these “undecides” watched that and still aren’t sure, or they’re voting for Biden, how pathetic, how dumb can one person be?

11

DarkMemeDuck 9 points ago +9 / -0

The lesson no one seems to learn is that unmotivated people will vote for things, but they are very highly unlikely to vote against something. If there are people who are undecided right now, they likely don't care much, and it's unlikely they will care enough to actually go vote when the time comes if the only motivating factor is "don't vote for Trump". They can "not" vote Trump by just not showing up, and that's way easier to do than going and voting for Biden.

2

Shills on /pol/ are always talking about how the latest thing that Trump did was bad. The latest talking point is "Trump gave 500b to n*****rs but nothing for whites!", yet they give no reason for any Trump supporter to vote for Biden.

Biden also doesn't really have a brand. Sanders was "the socialist guy" and Yang was "the UBI guy". Biden is "not Trump".

True, and good thing it's getting harder and harder for them to keep up the charade. Too many competing ideologies in one basket.

One of Trump's big selling points for liberals is his anti-war stance. We would practically be out right now if not for congress and the Pentagon.

"Politics101" was always about running hit ads on your opponent. That's why fundraising had been so crucial. Whoever could outspend their opponent with negative hit ads would win.

They weren't worried when Trump first ran. They knew they could outspend him on hit ads. So they did. And Trump's numbers kept rising and rising... the whole time they were shouting, "Why isn't this working?!"

62
uvontheterrible 62 points ago +62 / -0

This is one of Biden's big challenges. He has abandoned the idea of a traditional campaign and has put all his eggs in the bash Trump basket.

Yes, he has numerous billionaire supporters running non-stop anti-Trump ads in swing states, but he is not connecting directly with voters. No campaign events or rallies, and very little in the way of press time. He has no one out knocking on doors and connecting directly with voters that way.

Once people get tired of the Trump-bashing ads, which they have already, Biden's campaign is finished.

14
Labaladeplata 14 points ago +14 / -0

People that weren't for Trump and were listening to the media went from:

Finally get this jackass out of the white house too...

What bullshit are they going to make up about Trump today.

24
Necrovoter 24 points ago +24 / -0

every time they tried to do something negative it turned out to be free publicity for Trump

Because they lied their ass off. If the claims had been true, they would have hurt Trump. Every time they lied and it turned out to be either a nothing burger or the opposite of what they claimed, the public became more skeptical. 20,000 times later, the MSM that cried Wolf isn't believed at all.

4
ThePowerOfPrayer 4 points ago +4 / -0

Exactly.

Even if the New York Times tax return article was actually damaging (it wasn't), Rachel Maddow hyping up the fact she obtained his 2005 tax return only to find out Trump paid more in taxes that year than Obama and Hillary put together has turned any "breaking" news about that subject into a nothing burger for most.

The attack doesn't work in a logical sense. Blame Trump would be an excellent attack if:

A. Trump was a career politician with 47 years of service in the government

B. The economy got worse once Trump got elected

These attacks would resonate very will in reverse. Biden is an old clown with almost 50 years of poloticing in his pocket. This joker has been in office for dozens of wars, the crime bill, Obama Care, He was in power during the 07-08 recession, in-power for 9/11. Also, his admin flew pallets of cash to Iran in the last moments of their power for what?

It is very easy to make the case that Biden is to blame for everything, especially since he "is the democrat party"

2
FireannDireach 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most people know the Vice presidency isn't that powerful a position. VPs can do good work, quietly in the background, like Pence. Joe never registered with the country as VP, because we never saw him, Obama sucked ALL the oxygen out of the room all of the time, and kept Joe very far in the background. I'd bet if you'd asked people on the street halfway through both terms who the VP was, they'd have forgotten it was Joe. (Sadly, it's probably the same for Pence - which is why he needs to shine in the debate with Harris, and Trump needs to push him to the front more over the next 4 years. He's a good man, he deserves it.)

The reality is, Biden has spent a literal lifetime in politics, and very few people even know who the fuck he is. He's just a name to them, the name opposite Trump. He's got no optics, and when you dig in, all you find is video of him being creepy with kids. He flew under the radar for 50 years, and NOW he's gonna try to do his job?

C'mon, man!

20
Loc12 20 points ago +20 / -0

After 4 years of non stop attacks, I can't imagine who sees an anti Trump ad now and thinks 'Oh shit i'm not voting for him anymore'

8
zettapede 8 points ago +8 / -0

And they haven't realized this. They're tossing their money and resources into the wind. Every time they make some new attack based on falsehoods some 0.02% of the population that supports them has direct knowledge that contradicts that and they begin investigating. Anything beyond a shallow investigation leads them to the conclusion they've been lied-to and another person is started on the road to becoming a Trump supporter.

Nobody has created support for Trump in greater quantities than the Democrats. The Donald.win could never hope to change so many minds. We're just a landing pad for people who've already begun to figure out how much they've been deceived.

Trump is levels ahead in the matter of transmitting (and processing) information succinctly AND getting his point across.

3
Alpha_plus 3 points ago +3 / -0

You see it in business too with disruption. Entrenched companies with outdated business models often double down on their old strategies instead of adapting to a changing landscape. You see it with cable companies somehow playing MORE ADS to compete with streaming. Auto companies doubling down on the combustion engine. Retail companies not investing in e-commerce and logistics.

It happens often. Institutions being disrupted get stuck in mud, unable to make the necessary adjustments to survive.

Dems are the same way. Let's triple down on race baiting and fake news instead of actually offering the American people something tangible.

6
7.62swinebuster 6 points ago +6 / -0

The thing Biden has to overcome is that every American on both sides knows none of this sht in these ads or messages are Joe's. It's all created by the Wizards of Oz propping his decrepit ass up for their campaign by proxy. Everyone on both sides knows that everything Trump says and supports are things he's fully aware of and are of his own doing. Acting like Biden is coming up with this sht is insulting to everyone.

There's a new guy who works first shift at my job (I work third shift) who's about as black as coffee. Me and a work buddy I trust on my shift (we're both former military and very right leaning), were talking about the debates last night near shift change and the new guy came in while we weren't paying attention. The first thing out of his mouth this morning was "man fuck Biden. Racist ass bitch". We didn't even know he was standing there, which in retrospect was probably not smart because you never know these days. But he joined in the conversation and he's definitely voting for Trump. I don't know when the change occurred, maybe after Bush, but it seems like nowadays no one cares about anything negative you have to say about an opponent. The ones that hate Trump already hate him and won't change, but the fence sitters want to hear your plan of how you'll do things better, not a bash fest, so when you bash someone it comes off as you having no plan of your own. I don't think this is unique to Trump, but he's the biggest example.

Karl Rove's suggestions before the debates of judging success were spot on imo.

I actually had been left wanting more by POTUS performance yesterday until I talked to my friend.

I thought there were times where he could go hard after Sleep Joe, but what my friend said makes sense now. POTUS is master of the stage, he can't go too hard on Joe on the first night because the audience always root for the underdog. Joe might have Wallace on his side but being the bumbling fool Joe is, POTUS is already a sharp knife 2 inches away from his neck. Any sharper, he risks becoming the bully. It's psy warfare. Joe's entire performance yesterday could very well be banking on igniting the audience's "sympathy for the elderly".

So POTUS might as well sit back a little, and let Chris and Joe bully him instead. And they sure did.
