OP doesn’t know any real Christians. You know, you can drink and be a Christian? Btw, OP, stay away from meth.

“ 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.“ Looks like we are screwed here at the Donald. Don’t eat any pork or shellfish either.

Yeah, not sure what the point is. George had a lifelong abhorrence for alcohol abuse - only drank a bit of wine with dinner himself. He did not “pour beer and whiskey down his gullet.”

I dont think you quite understand history.

True, the US isn't a Christian nation...

Religious persecution in Europe was certainly a reason many immigrated.

America was founded on Judeo-Christian values. Those values are written all over the historical record, whether you want to admit it or not. It is true the nation was founded on religious freedom, which includes the freedom to not practice any religion, but the earliest settlers did not come here to "escape religion." That is demonstrably false. If you believe that you simply do not know United States history.

The fact that people like to drink (both in the 18th and 21st centuries) has zero bearing on any of this.

They didn't come to escape religion, they came to escape a specific religious/governmental system.

They enshrined freedom of religion in the constitution and the majority of the founders were Christians. Additionally, the principles of the country were the results of a Christian foundation that even the non-Christians were raised within.

Without Christianity there is nothing to conserve.

Lets not forget, drinking water was a risky business back in the day, but beer and spirits are boiled and distilled. This killed off microorganisms. He'll, even children were given lesser alcoholic forms of beer in many parts of the old world.

In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

Nice "Christian" strawman you got there...don't know how to post the link, but LifeWay Research did a study in 2018 of various Christian denominations, and the results were all over the place. Some do, some don't; the consumption or non-consumption of alcohol doesn't make one a Christian. Go read Romans 14:1-12 for an explanation of the differences between Christian groups.

Damn. That's like a million dollar bar tab today. Ol George bought the whole country a drink.

Some were Christians, some were Deists, and some were a bit of both. 🤷‍♀️
