I'm confused about Trump saying Portland Sheriff supporting him

On debate last night, DJT said "Portland Sheriff came out today and said I support President Trump". Mike Reese saying on Twitter (assuming he was the Sheriff DJT was talking about) that he doesn't support Trump. So was Trump exaggerating about Portland Sheriff, or was he talking about some other guy (not Mike Reese), or did Mike Reese actually tell him that he supports him but on Twitter is just lying?

there the other police guy from the portland area that was supporting trump and got fired for it during the fires

I think he probably just flubbed it and meant the Portland police or a Sheriff in a different county.
