Same and in some ways, this is why I am struggling with DJT response last night. I realized that I know way more about these events and people than the average person and even GEOTUS, which I’m not at all saying to knock him, why should he watch live streams until 3 am night after night? But I have over this summer, plus grew up in and now live just outside of Portland. I don’t know, it’s like he needs people like us working for him to study all of these topics. He could learn who the proud boys are in a 5-minute conversation with one of us.

I mean, I live in Portland so “Antifa” is not a new word to me, but as I tried to explain to my coworker, the problem is that Antifa is a literal, organized and funded entity but now that the word has gained national exposure and became a political point (in addition to their incredible destruction), people and politicians are using the word Antifa to paint a broad brush over any protestor or rioter across the nation. By oversaturating the word and attributing it to every person and activity, it’s watered down and discredited it’s meaning — which again, is very real.

Honestly I even see it here, anytime there is any activity related to leftist protests, rioting, etc., they are called “Antifa” which isn’t helpful. If everyone is Antifa no one is Antifa.

I don’t have an answer just an observation because I know for a fact that Antifa is 1,000% real, but watering down the meaning doesn’t help lend credit. I’m not arguing with you, it’s just a particular thing again that I have noted and bothers me. My bigger point here started about being way too informed for my own good sometimes.

Call them Marxists. When you see them amassing in black bloc, with antifa signs, then call them antifa. Preferably only when they're being destructive or getting their ass beat.

We all know communist orgs are antifa and blm both. But imagine the field day media and the left would have if you dared to call out the mother org of BLM. for now Antifa is the proxy and scapegoat even if they are smaller because they are more violet and are the end result of BLM ideology.

Antifa, BAMN, Youth Liberation Army, or whatever other bullshit they want to be called all stem from marxists / socialism / communism. Antifa is visible, worldwide, and have a history you can tie to. No one ever does though so yes, it diminishes the importance of calling them out. I prefer jumping straight to communism as the common denominator and working backwards into all groups supporting.

Sad thing is, the evidence is there. Literally all anyone has to do is look up videos on YouTube. I would say they can "google it" but google has been altering search results since 2015 so that people arent getting the actual news, but the left's spin on it.

Normal people (or normies as we call them) are ignorant. They will watch clips here and there and see highlights of stuff on tv and just go about their day thinking they are informed. They are too busy dealing with their lives to care about whats going on around them. So its very difficult to convince these people about whats really going on. Best thing you can do is share memes and videos on Facebook or other social media platforms they use and just hope they will wake up.

As Biden would say, "You can bring a horse to water and ... uh.... you know the thing"

I'm fairly certain POTUS knows who the Proud Boys are. I think he's just pretending he doesn't and dodging the question, but I could be wrong. He should denounce them as white supremacists because it is a blatant falsification but this is a completely acceptable answer. He didn't bring any unnecessary heat on the group and diverted to the real threat Antifa.

I would be ok being wrong on that, totally. My bigger point is just how frustrated I realized I am for knowing way too much about this mess compared to the average person and at times, potentially DJT.

I imagine you being close to riot central you would have a lot of insight. It is deeply troubling how many people know nothing about these radical Marxist groups like Antifa and BLM and act like it is some kind of right wing conspiracy. Unfortuantely, there are a lot of sheep out there

I think one reason DJT can't just placidly agree to condemn any group the Dems say to condemn, is that when they say "white supremacist" and "racist" they mean anyone who supports Trump, any conservative, any Republican. You have to pin down exactly what group or person they're talking about, because in their minds claiming everyone in the NRA is a racist is totally legitimate, that's their "truth."

Yeah I totally agree with that. I hate them.
