Not many Trump-ers enjoyed it, so don't feel alone. The polls came out pretty well (CSPAN & TELEMUNDO), & even WaPo thinks Trump came out on top. It would help you to listen to an analysis by people in the know. Rush Limbaugh had a great analysis. People on here posted some good observations. It can help alleviate some of your concerns.
I wanted to see a blowout but that didn't happen for a couple reasons. Joe was much more sharp last night. Even experts think Joe was getting covert advice(see the Body Language specialist video here on td), & there's the wire that became visible during the debate. I noticed in places where Joe was talking that he was staring off into space where nobody was sitting & his eyes were scrolling. I told my wife "Look - he's reading something somewhere in the room". But then there was Trump.
Trump got angry early on & went into angry attack mode. Joe hardly finished a sentence after that, then it became a debate between Trump & Wallace. It wasn't a good look, it didn't go the way I wanted it to go, but as disappointed as I was, the polls were great. Every Republican that talked about it on Fox said that Trump needs to let Joe talk so he'll make mistakes. That would make a bigger impression than talking over Joe & it might actually change an undecided voter's mind.
Most undecided voters only source of truth is ABC, NBC, CBS & their offshoots. That means they get NO positive news about Trump's accomplishments, no truth about the riots, nor BLM, nor Antifa, nor about any other important topic. Conservatives & libertarians watch OANN or Fox or Newsmax, so we know gobs & gobs of things the undecided voters know NOTHING about. Trump needs to present the truth about all these things in short, logical progression to inform the ignorant. He can't do that at all by attacking Joe every 60 seconds. He needs to inform more than attack if he wants to win over more voters.
You articulated my thoughts on the debate perfectly. I knew I was going to come off offensive in this space but I surely wasn't going to go to reddit or something.
