You are 100% correct.

However we must also acknowledge that Trump has complete authority of declassifications.

If he wants to.... he can do it if she doesn't.

We have to ask the question why Trump has not declassified these things when his own appointees don't.

To play the devils advocate, could there be legitimate reasons?

That said.. it's very likely she is implicated to some degree in the documents. She ran the London office during 2016, and a lot of "news" came from London during that time. I'm sure her name is on a few documents, at least.

Unsure why Trump would appoint her, in that case unless he was under the impression she would expose Brennan (but now she is protecting him).

I think there are even deeper levels of investigation going on and that the head doesn't know what the hands and feet are doing so certain items are going to be blocked till they no longer impact ongoing stuff. Sadly it's going to take more than one term or even two before the rot of corruption that is decades deep can be fully rooted out. We may be begging Trump for a third term.

Yes, it is risky because the amount of paranoia, harm, and clusterfuck it would create in our government and institutions, however the longer this stays hidden, the harder it is to weed out and easier it is for the players to stay hidden in the weeds.

There is always the ethical argument of keeping the information hidden from the public when it involves people that hold public office. Sure, there are times when it's necessary, but when it's factual and not speculative, I think it's time to know.

I am still shocked that Trump appointed Christopher Wray and Gina Haspel to the FBI and CIA repectively.

And Bill Barr to the DOJ.

At what point do we look at this and say, Trump had the opportunity not to put career Deep State politicians in these positions, and instead that's exactly what he did.

So far, none of these three people have done ANYTHING to show to the American public that they are trustworthy and should even EXIST.

Trump negotiated a second and third term with the deep state. Russia gate stays classified and buried due to the widespread chaos it could cause and the deep staters involved remain free. I agree. Declassify everything. Let everyone rifle through it on their own. The media can't spin it if everyone has the same information. Independent lawyers can file civil suits for civil rights violations, hatch act violations, etc. Independent DAs, AGs can do their own thing. Maybe one master investigation won't work for something this large and it requires thousands of independent investigations, lawsuits etc.

If the Trump admin releases all the documents that relates to these subjects, they will be regarded as the most transparent administration looking back through the years.

And the legal action taken by independent lawyers against government officials will be unprecedented. Unlike the government, independent lawyers have freedom to do their jobs. It doesn't matter if Trump appoints the head of the FBI, CIA, AG, or whoever.

By now we know we cannot trust them to do their job. Trump is doing everything he can, but he needs the help of independent players. Anyone tied to government should be assumed ineffective in dealing with the swamp.

Pompeo is doing God's work as secretary of state and Barr knows the ropes and closet skeletons of DC better than anyone. I know there is defeatist talk about Barr doing nothing because he hasn't tossed hillary and obama and crew into jail yet but again you don't root out decades of entrenched corruption in a couple of years. I agree that optics are key and that unleashing the hounds right before a hotly contested election could jam up the works and screw Trump out of a second term. Now after Trump gets his second term and 3~6 months in there is still no 'action' then yeah start boiling the tar and fluffing the feathers.

In my direct experience, the Agency is downright professional, lean and virtuous in contrast to State. State is the MOST political department in the Executive, they meet and travel with Hill members and staffers Every, Day. Of. The. Week. The Executive can't fart without State staffers running over to tell the hill rats. The actual Secretary of State, to function within State is in practice run as a private office with a small group and some trusted FSO's like Grenell. You could fire 2/3 of main State and it would probably function better. State is a huge - I mean Huge! - organization - that duplicates in some respect almost every function of every other Agency of the Executive. But the Executive can't touch them because the Senate protects them. That's why you see Rand's - what do you people do all day, and isn't this your one job, and you f that up too attitude spill out in his hearings.

Pretty sure that extreme pruning of the various government staff bloated agencies will come after the election. Just too much chaos will be unleashed if he wipes out decades of bureaucratic power creep in a series of executive actions to risk it before his second term is secured. He already did the ground work with the government shutdown and the studies they ran which found huge improvements in efficiency by cutting the staff to the bone and sending the dead weight home on vacation.

I wish they would re-populate where the headquarters are for these agencies and departments. It makes no sense for their headquarters to be in Washington DC/Virginia. Put some of those agencies in fly over country and you'll get more responsive and representative government agencies.

IMHO, Whitaker was in over his head as AG. He was AG in name only, and the SES class were in open revolt. You know, 'make sure the right people' are in charge of the investigation. Having Barr as AG at least puts someone in there that knows the organization and can shuffle people around until it is functioning somewhat per what it should be doing. And even Barr IMHO has his hands full as the entire DOJ/HQ is captured by K St and the Dems.

Haspill was COS London. Nothing is suppose to happen there without the COS sign off. Obviously, the docs will implicate her, or show her as incompetent to run a station. And if you can't run a station, you shouldn't be running the entire outfit. Not a good look in either scenario. If her defense is Brennon was running a 'special' under her watch as COS London and she just looked away, well that shows a lack of integrity to be a good director, again not a good look. The Agency, at least when I was there, runs under a strict chain of command, this was one of the falls out of the Church Commission.

Well that's kinda what I'm saying. Trump didn't exactly do anything to cause someone like Gina to reveal herself as a swamprat, she exposed herself. I'm saying that just by Trump being in office it's peeling back the layers of the swamp and exposing bad actors.

I agree, it should be done faster but this isn't a result of any direct action that Trump took. It happened naturally.

Yes, on the surface these appointments look like unforced errors. However I don’t buy that. There has to be a reason this logjam is allowed to persist. I think this is a way of getting the deep state to commit more crimes while inching ever closer to getting the BTFO moment we’ve all been expecting. It’s very difficult to know.
