Normally I'd agree, but Snowden isn't exactly your every day citizen. He seems to have really badly pissed off exactly the wrong people doing something that was pretty much unprecedented. You might be right with what you're saying - I have no idea - but to me it's not a exactly a 1-to-1 comparison.
