Technically it never requires you to name your political affiliation. The question is asking her to compare and contrast her political choices to her parents. She can fully answer the question without ever actually saying what her affiliation is by always referring to it in the frame of aligning with or opposing the parents affiliation.

Of course, as others have pointed out, not proudly professing her support for "correct side" is an admission of supporting the "wrong side".
