No cop is going to enforce this. The cops themselves don't wear masks, and I walk past them every day with no mask - they don't care.
Besides, you only in theory would be fined if they hand you a mask and you refuse to put it on.
Even in that case - you put it on, walk around the corner and then take it off.
That said - of course DiBlasio is a fascist for trying to make such a dumb rule.

Don’t assume all cops are on our side. There are plenty little authoritarians who would love to enforce this. Did you see the cop yanking the woman out of the bleachers at a high school football game? That will be the new status quo here, plus a $1000 fine on top.

When I read, "No cop is going to enforce this" I took that to mean, "No cop anywhere in the USA is going to enforce this". My point is only that, yes, some cops will, especially if you live in a liberal shithole.
If you are fortunate enough to live away from the liberal shitholes, then go thank your local cops for job well done and make sure they know they have your support.

I think people should realize that police forces vary a lot in policy and attitude from city to city.
Here in New York - not only do the cops often defy the mayor - they also defy the Police Commissioner if he acts like DiBlasio's stooge.

I've been seeing videos from all around the world the police forces seem to be having infighting between cops that want to do the right thing and cops that do their masters' bidding no matter what. they're tazing people in ohio for simply not wearing a mask outside. they're chasing down people running for their lives from antifa and BLM in LA. and don't get me started on the full on dystopian crack down in australia, they'll break your door down and beat you if you so much as like a post on facebook they don't like. so I don't believe the police are exactly playing with a full deck on this one. and america has it better than most
