First off, you have to understand what Trump's strategy was. There isn't any undecided voters at this point. In 2016 there was a good 20 of undecided, not this time. Everybody who would vote Trump already plans to.
Its a matter of demoralizing one side to not show up. The left is doing this to us with fake polling.
Trump plans on fracturing Biden's voters by getting him to come off as moderate and alienate the radical progressive, bernie bro, climate crazy, radical left.
Trump successfuly got him to say the following 5 things.
Biden debate quotes:
“I’m totally opposed to defunding the police offices.”
“The violence should be prosecuted.”
“No, I don’t support the Green New Deal.”
“The party is me. Right now, I am the Democratic Party.”
“The fact of the matter is I beat Bernie Sanders.”
Now these quotes are damming enough on their own. But, if we tweak them a bit it'll make them more effective. Then, if they try to look up the EXACT quote they'll still be proving biden doesn't support their radical agenda.
Try the following:
Biden debate quotes:
“I’m totally opposed to defunding any police, if anything they need more. Police need our support and I vow to back the blue.”
“Protests that have any violence should be prosecuted. We need law and order and I will be a law and order president.”
“No, I don’t support the Green New Deal. These radical policies go too far and will destroy the economy.”
“The party is me. Right now, I am the Democratic Party and you will do what I want. The fringe progressives do not tell me what to do or say.”
“The fact of the matter is I beat Bernie Sanders in a totally fair primary. Donald will try to bring up the coin toss, this malarkey is nonsense! Come on man.”
I've been thinking recently about exactly this tactic. Saying a false statement, not with the intent to deceive but with the intent to position a rebuttal to say exactly what you want spread. Trump does it all the time by being "wrong" about this and that. Then all the coverage is about the thing he wants to bring to light. Great examples.
What makes it even better is that the whole left field is already infighting. Tons of very salty bernie bros. They are already attacking eachother all over social media and chat forums. This little spark from the debate could start a fire that burns bridges. Why shouldn't we pour a little extra gas on the fire?
