If they knowingly report false news, they are in effect spinning a false web in an uncountable amount of minds.
If a person is driven to believe that the president is literally the second coming of Hitler, then you're putting them in the "what if you could go back in time and kill baby Hitler" scenario. Yes, killing baby Hitler to prevent a future genocide is something a lot of people have daydreamed about at one point or another, myself included.
