There's also a theory I heard YEARS ago, before GEOTUS was even in the picture, that America goes through a major political realignment roughly every 40 years. If we go by our current timeline of Trump coming in and changing shit from the top down (2015-202?), then the last alignment would be around Reagans time, though not how you'd think. Yes, Reagan's administration was based but that's about the time leftism started taking root in media and the school system and the "New" Democrats (1976-1995). Go 40 years before that and yes, FDR was president, but the realignment was below him, giving us Eisenhower, victory in WW2, and the boom that made us the power house we are over the next 30 years (1940-1975). Go 40 years before that, the realignment was the other direction again, Woodrow Wilson, Imperialism, Federal Reserve, Income taxes (1895-1920). 40 years before that, birth of the Republican party, Lincoln, ending slavery, etc...(1860-1880). Then go 40 years before that and you get the seeds of civil war, lame duck presidents, manifest destiny, and Monroe Doctrine(good and bad) (1820-1840). Then finally, 40 years before that, the founding of our country (1776-1791).

Every time someone says President Reagan's admin was based, I'll remind you, He had dementia thru out his presidency. Sure, easy to get along with, didn't accomplish any of his campaign promises, thinking in particular of the 300 ship navy. I don't want a Biden dementia Presidency, and I surely wouldn't hold President Reagan up as an example of what to do.

You do realize he did nothing about Pres J.C. deregulating Phones, Natural Gas, Electricity and especially Trucking. Avg OTR truckers used to make 70k yr, today its 35k. The Defense? RU Kidding? He gutted it, pulled the manpower out and privatized the Civil Engineer, Base Kitchen, Base Supply, all in the name of "Economics." I worked in Budgeting at the time and wrote numerous papers to the W/H saying why it was a mistake. By the numbers. No actual increase in Ships/planes/tanks, just planned increases. And when the Soviets fell, those planned increases went by the way side. Cost? About 3 Trillion$. So do I know? Oh yeah, I've got a pretty good idea! Not everything was ghosted, I could point to a boondoggle on Tyndall AFB that was built not to spec for 15m$ at the urging of the local commanding Gen'l. Or the attempt to run 30 foreign nationals thru US courses in my shop at a cost of 10m$. They were really pissed when I wouldn't let that happen. Or the 1500$Acft tires that were bought thru Sabine instead of Tinker AFB for 300$. You think he was super? He was the worst spindthrift since the last one, unfortunately.
