And that standard is chosen by the military. It can include "be a man" just like it includes "be younger than 35" and it doesn't matter if you know a 50-year-old triathlete who'd be able to meet all the other standards.

I think GoingCamaro is referring to the double Physical Fitness standards for Males / Females that current exists in the Military. Females are required to be less fit than their Male counterparts.

More than likely, I think we all agree the different standards are stupid. But I'm against admitting women at all, they were arguing it should be her choice as long as the standards are equal

But if a woman (or a 55yr old man) CAN meet the exact same standards, what’s the problem?

If they can carry the weight, walk the distance, shoot as accurately, do the hand to hand combat and everything else... there’s no rational basis to exclude them.

The rational basis is they're not needed and it causes more problems than it's worth, regardless of the woman being able to carry the same weight, walk the same distance and everything else. I don't know a single example of such a woman anyway, but that's beside the point.

Someone posted this further in the thread which breaks down a lot of it specific to the military https://media.thedonald.win/post/AiCWAKmn.jpeg

But it still doesn't go into the simple fact that women and men think differently. Look how much effort goes into getting men to be able to kill strangers in battle. All of that effort is tailored for MEN, and it's only somewhat effective. Add on top of that the different biologically-rooted instincts of men and women, and group coordination is basically hopeless. That's something you can see anywhere, even just an office environment.

This is why basically every single society in history has divided men and women. Especially within religious institutions or anything else that demands a lot of focus or cooperation (e.g. the military)
