Doing what you believe is the right thing when no one is looking is admirable. Making a press release out of it is the worst kind of self-promotion to publicly display your superior moral purity. The program has been going on since 2018 so it's not exactly fresh news but its expansion is being promoted. Personally, if I were offered a large discount on an item because the seller felt sorry for me due to my skin color I would immediately cancel the order and shout from the rooftops what ignorant assholes they are for treating me with such disdain.
This will cost them nothing. Do you think someone in the hood wants/needs/ is willing to buy their bike? They are appealing to the morally superior liberals who are their target market. Hope they fall on their asses.
To be fair, there have always been a large number of black cyclists and they're not ghetto dwellers. Probably 2/3 of big-city blacks are in inner-ring suburbs or outer-ring enclaves rather than the inner city.
Your point about the program appealing to shit-for-brains whites is very true.
Yes, but the black cyclists that can afford those bikes, are going to be sooo offended. I know many. They will not be happy about what this days if what the company thinks about them. They can’t make it without a hand up.

I'm gonna guess just like any other small bike shop the prices are really high
Who is in on the class action with me?
I’m down
Ok, now we need someone to tell us how to start one!
Where are our Trump train lawyers at!?
We probably need to order a bike and demand to get the black reparations price. If they won’t give us that price then we need to file suit.
Yep
We aren't racist and we can prove it by using racist policies!
They can cancel the whole thing if they 'suspect' abuse. They don't have to prove it. Convenient. Also, Dunning - Kruger.
