Patriot!

Plus the virus is extinguishing itself. I believe the statistics indicate it is becoming less and less virulent. The CDC released fatality rates by age group last week and that stat was much lower than many thought.

155
chinita_atx [S] 155 points ago +155 / -0

Agree. CDC data on recovery rates indicate decreasing virulence is not being reported and being ignored by Fauci and Redfield himself. They focus on number of cases to prove that we're still in jeopardy.

105
dataonly 105 points ago +105 / -0

That is why Dr. Scott Atlas was brought in!

74
chinita_atx [S] 74 points ago +74 / -0

Yeah and that's why there is coordinated campaign to discredit him.

31
SteamyRayVaughn7 31 points ago +31 / -0

Definitely. I work at Stanford and they emailed out a hit piece trying to discredit him. I work directly with physicians there and even they were like....uhhh this is so wrong.

Then search Dr. John Iaonnidis.

Also from Stanford. Dr. Iaonnidis has written extensively. Used the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship early on as a self contained data set. BTW, I did the same and posted extensively about it.

But Iaonnidis and Atlas have said similar things.

Once you gain a new power over others, you will not see any ways of justifying giving up the power.

What he doesn’t realize is that “he” has no power over the people. The media is using him as a prop and he is just soaking up all the attention he can get.

21
Slyhillary 21 points ago +21 / -0

Unless you have empathy and love.

I squashed a few ants. I used a magnifying glass on them. But then I stopped. And then I turned 6 years old.

Evil people want that power, but look at how Trump isn't firing people as frequently after the snakes were removed. He has power but he isn't abusing it.

Obama issued a drone strike on an American. Clinton had dozens killed, many were children, at Waco and Ruby Ridge. The wars... The fucking wars...

We're better than them. It isn't a prideful thing to say because we also have empathy for their souls. Now, their bodies are fair game as they step across the line necessitating self defense on our part. But we do pity their souls.

13
FREEDOM1st 13 points ago +13 / -0

Exceptionally well said.

Trump is the only president in my lifetime who hasn't gotten us into a war, and I'm getting pretty old.

I pray he will help save Armenia.

6
OllyOlly 6 points ago +10 / -4

To be honest I understand your point but ants are a bad example.

All insects are basically literally Hitler and should be exterminated on sight if found inside your home.

Outside, they can do whatever the hell they want. Inside? Kill on sight.

Fucking disgusting creepy crawlies are one of the few things that turn me from a dicks out muscular alpha male into a teenage girl.

Ants aren't that bad and don't give me the heebie jeebies like a lot of other insects, but they're still kill-on-sight.

Centipedes were a huge problem when I was growing up during my bachelor's at university and everyone lived together in rundown homes that cost three times as much to live in as they were worth, because they were close to the school and it was the cool thing to do.

One time I was showering and looked over and I swear to god the biggest centipede I'd ever seen was like four inches from me on the shower wall while I'm all vulnerable and naked

I fucking jumped out of the shower so fast and basically screamed loud enough that my one buddy ran to the door and was like IS EVERYTHING OKAY and I'm like FUCKING NO and we spent the next half hour together pouring an insane amount of bug spray and shit into every single crack and crevice we could find

Never saw the centipede again but I'm not sure we killed it either. I called it our Moby Dick. The White Whale.

Every single time I showered after that I was constantly looking around for the goddamned thing.

It's not becoming less virulent, just a little something called "herd immunity" happens. Nobody official is going to say that because they can't sell their vaccine if it happens too soon.

Edit: Closest I've seen so far linked elsewhere under this post.

22
chinita_atx [S] 22 points ago +22 / -0

Maybe NYC has herd immunity. Being on lockdown really prevents people from getting herd immunity. But the way coronaviruses are, they eventually join the pantheon of others that have devolved into the common cold.

9
featherwinglove 9 points ago +12 / -3

Actually, I'm pretty sure this one is a variant of common cold to begin with that just got lucky with a nasty mutation. Not as lucky as the Spanish Flu (which came from Kansas, by the way; it got the name because Spain was the first country to report on it because of WW1. By the same etymology, we would be proudly calling the current pandemic the American Coronavirus.)

18
Workhorse101 18 points ago +18 / -0

Recent research points to the Kansas one coming from China too. Imported by Chinese labourers.

9
FREEDOM1st 9 points ago +9 / -0

Even cuckipedia knows it was yet another in a long line of CHINESE viruses.

In 1993, Claude Hannoun, the leading expert on the Spanish flu at the Pasteur Institute, asserted the precursor virus was likely to have come from China and then mutated in the United States near Boston and from there spread to Brest, France, Europe's battlefields, the rest of Europe, and the rest of the world, with Allied soldiers and sailors as the main disseminators.[65] Hannoun considered several alternative hypotheses of origin, such as Spain, Kansas, and Brest, as being possible, but not likely.[65] In 2014, historian Mark Humphries argued that the mobilization of 96,000 Chinese laborers to work behind the British and French lines might have been the source of the pandemic. Humphries, of the Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, based his conclusions on newly unearthed records. He found archival evidence that a respiratory illness that struck northern China (where the laborers came from) in November 1917 was identified a year later by Chinese health officials as identical to the Spanish flu.[66][67] However, no tissue samples have survived for modern comparison.[68] Nevertheless, there were some reports of respiratory illness on parts of the path the laborers took to get to Europe, which also passed through North America.[68]

One of the few regions of the world seemingly less affected by the Spanish flu pandemic was China, where several studies have documented a comparatively mild flu season in 1918.[69][70][71] (Although this is disputed due to lack of data during the Warlord Period, see Around the globe.) This has led to speculation that the Spanish flu pandemic originated in China,[71][70][72][73] as the lower rates of flu mortality may be explained by the Chinese population's previously acquired immunity to the flu virus.[74][71][70]

9
deleted 9 points ago +10 / -1
1
featherwinglove 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't see how that's possible. I've seen an article pointing to it having a relationship with a flu in China that had the same antigens (I can't remember the configuration off the top of my head), but that the mutation that turned it nasty could not have happened in China: anyone carrying it over would be discovered before they could get to Kansas. Remember, this was nearly a hundred years before the 787 type airliner that could red eye from Shanghai to Los Angeles was invented. In 1917, you couldn't get from any coast to Camp Funston within the asymptomatic period, and it didn't do that going the other way either. It moved so quickly primarily because of the first fully industrialized military mobilization in history, and it remained "undetected" because of wartime censorship of the news.

6
PinochetIsMyHero 6 points ago +6 / -0

Spain was the first country to report on it because of WW1. By the same etymology, we would be proudly calling the current pandemic the American Coronavirus

Nonsense, the first report was from a Chinese physician in Wuhan who later was censored and incarcerated by the CCP, and who apparently later died from the virus.

His report is why Taiwan shut down travel from China on January 1st.

2
featherwinglove 2 points ago +2 / -0

It is via similar reports, albeit much more tardy back in the dial up days of 1918, that we learned the Spanish Flu originated in Kansas. My argument stands.

Different places list different possible origins. There are as many credible groups that believe it originated from our favorite Asian country too.

15
freevortex 15 points ago +15 / -0

Herd immunity and the fact that we are actually pretty competent at treating it now. At the beginning, we were all running around like chickens with our heads cut off, intubating literally everyone, but now we've got budesonide and protocols which help guide therapy. We're seeing fewer deaths from that aspect as well as some amount of herd immunity and some amount of lost virulence. It's a combination of causes which all together are making this virus a less deadly even to the highest risk patients.

8
thisisatestof2 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yep. They literally STILL think if we all just hind inside for 2 weeks the virus would just disappear and you idiots who dared take a hike, bike ride, golf, etc. back in March/April ruined it. If you had just hid in you basement back in March for 2 weeks life would have been back to normal.

No. I live in Tennessee. 6 months ago, he cited Google tracking/travel data as a reason for moving from voluntarily to mandatory restrictions.

He was wrong then because he does not have that power. The people do. He is wrong now because those measures have shown to be ineffective. Reversing unconstitutional, failed policies is a political move, not a patriotic one.

10
RussianLimbaugh 10 points ago +10 / -0

He lifts all restrictions except for cities like Nashville, Memphis,Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, Brentwood/Franklin. We’re left up to our mayors & our health departments. All of them are democrats. I guarantee all of them have been doing what we learned Cooper & Metro Nash Health Dept were doing to fuck our city & state. All want mandatory masks to remain. I have refused to wear a mask this whole time. I now refuse to live in one of the East Germany districts of TN. I’m not moving. I’m pushed far enough to be annoying & relentless as fuck.

No no look at the number of positive test results, everyone agrees that’s the most important statistic when accessing the lethality of a virus. Like Fauci said fatality rates just cloud the picture and don’t let us see how truly deadly the virus is.

9
TrudeauIsAsshoe 9 points ago +9 / -0

Just wait until 2 weeks from now when every single one of those people with a positive test result will be dropping dead, bigot! Just don't ask why there's not millions of deaths right now from the people who tested positive 2 weeks ago from today.

wash your hands with soap and water. Alcohol wipes aren't as useful as you think. Try baby wipes, or wet ones if you can find them in the meantime. Plus, you can buy 90% isopropyl alcohol and dump in the container for a big alcohol wipe. Save money 👌

But then again I live in the only sane place left in Canada (Alberta) where conservativism and personal freedom / responsibility reigns supreme. We even still get to have guns and anyone trying to take them gets BTFO'd pretty fast.

Although there's been a real influx of immigrants and white liberal shitheads recently so I'm even building my escape plan for when in 5 or 10 years this place gets as fucked as everywhere else in the country.

There's one liquor store nearby that, despite it being a city by-law, straight up says they're not enforcing this stupid mask bullshit.

Guess who gets all my business?

5

Not entirely, even in TN.

The emergency order still gives unelected boards of health the right to mandate masks in large counties. And those orders are still in place for the big counties.

Yes and no. All of us in areas with a Board of Health (filled with people we didn't vote for) are still trapped. He COULD have done it in a way that would have nullified what the BoH is doing, but didn't. So yeah... more counties than you'd think have had no change from this. 6 of them. Fun fact, we recently learned the BoH here has the power to, as the law is written, take our guns for the sake of "community safety". Now... it would be bloody and hilarious to watch them try... but I don't like that it's even on the books that they have so much power. We've been fighting our ass off to get them dissolved but the media is against us, too! We filled the halls and brought so many speakers time got cut in half and STILL they printed in the paper that "the movement lacks steam" and other things to keep implying that most people are pro BoH and mandates and such. Gah! I'm pissed as shit over it all.

With the change in the Supreme Court, it is likely a lawsuit challenging the authority of regulatory bodies will force the court to make a significant decision on their authority. In all likelihood, all regulations will require the backing of laws enacted by an elected legislative body. No more making up rules on the fly.

1 by 1....more will follow hopefully....now ban mandatory masks

7
KAGALOSAURUS 7 points ago +7 / -0

Tennessee borders my two states, sadly they are both democrat run states. I doubt it’ll be contagious with either of them.

3
sir_rockness 3 points ago +3 / -0

You have 2?

2
KAGALOSAURUS 2 points ago +2 / -0

Part time NC resident.

4
Saremei 4 points ago +4 / -0

We arent a dem state.

7
Hexagon 7 points ago +7 / -0

Meanwhile the Great state of Texas is still in lockdown due to our Democrat mayor pleasing governor of suck.

5
Averon 5 points ago +5 / -0

Can't believe I voted for that guy. I'd make a better governor and I have no experience in governing at all. If fact, a ham sandwich would make a better governor. At least a ham sandwich wouldn't issue unconstitutional executive orders.

2
Nancypelosisoldliver 2 points ago +2 / -0

thats what im saying. If you picked the govenor for each state out of this place you'd have 10/10 govenors the vast majority of the time. The country would be doing great

1
Averon 1 point ago +1 / -0

Can we do that? Can we pick our state governors from td.win?

4
Ebbie8708 4 points ago +4 / -0

What Texas is doing is so fascinating.

Had Abbott at least admitted he is scared of the coronavirus? Don’t know if he is low immunity with the paralysis.

3
BeanieBeanTX 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yup, abbot needs to drop the mask thing and the restrictions already. I hope he is relishing in his job now, because he won’t be governor here any more.

Don’t get me started on the school thing, either.

2
chinita_atx [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

yeah fuck him

6
sustainable_saltmine 6 points ago +6 / -0

yeah but what about masks? that's still the important thing. if you still gotta wear one, theres still a restriction/limit

6
Dimedog 6 points ago +6 / -0

No mail in voting

6
MythArcana 6 points ago +6 / -0

Now do this in California.

6
PotatoFarmer20 6 points ago +6 / -0

Moving there soon. Cannot wait!!!! Leaving a hellhole for 2A Freedomland!

2
GPan900 2 points ago +2 / -0

I did the same this year. Already waiting on a Form 4

6
Scroon 6 points ago +6 / -0

Do not thank this guy for this. There should have been no mandatory restrictions in the first place.

All he's doing is making the tyranny a little less to fool you into thinking he's doing a good thing.

6
CovfefeVideo 6 points ago +6 / -0

Our state lifted restrictions months ago, but that didn't stop the corporate tyranny. States need to prohibit mask mandates in the private sector when the state does not require them.

Want to wear a mask? Wear one. Want total control of everyone's lives forever? Fuck off.

6
Wtf_socialismreally 6 points ago +6 / -0

At the end of it, I love that they try to paint the state negatively by listing off cases and deaths with no comparisons.

Yes, people will get sick with it, yes the very old and immunity compromised will die. At risk people should still take caution, but healthy people who aren't scared should be able to live their lives.

4
chinita_atx [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

That family in TX where 18 family members got infected is representative of what is happening in the country. The young recovered. The elderly got sick, one of which passed away, because his wife just had to drop by at the party where the young ones were, and then infected him. Young and healthy should go on about their normal lives and the elderly and the immuno compromised should shelter themselves.

MsQleo 5 points ago +6 / -1

Based Plumber Governor. Draining the fucking Swamp. Proud to be a TN PEDE. My County dropped the shit last week too, now just waiting on the city.

5
KnottyJane 5 points ago +5 / -0

I watched Ohio Gov news conference today and I was in tears by the end... You know how (women mostly) just get frustrated and angry and start crying? That's where I was... It wasn't sad cry, it was angry cry.

I was so hopeful that he'd start easing restrictions... Instead he was shaming people for family gatherings, for watching their kids play sports, shaming college kids for not living in fear.

He was already talking about doing thr holidays virtually and not having big family gatherings....

FUCK THAT. FUCK ALL OF THAT. And FUCK DeWINE.

Luckily my family feels the same way I do... We'll get together and laugh and hug and have a good time no matter what. Most of the parents on the teams around here don't worry about the mask and distancing silliness.

I'll wear the mask for my daughter's appointments, because she needs care, but other than that - I refuse. Fuck Covid.

(Yes... Still angry, probably irrational at the moment because my kids kitten got outside and I watched it get hit but I still say FUCK COVID.)

3
chinita_atx [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm sorry about your kitten.

Leaders are to caught up in fear and are not leading. They fear they won't get re-elected if more people die as democrats have been scaring them will happen.

3
J3N93W 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fuck that guy. My 69 year old mother has dinner at her house every Sunday for all 7 of us, 6 spouses, and 16 grandkids. Never missed a week due to the virus. My 78 year old aunt keeps her distance, and that's fine. If DeWhine has a problem with it, he can send his goons to the door.

2
KnottyJane 2 points ago +2 / -0

We have lunch at my 94 year old grandmother's house most weeks. (We cook for her or bring something in, we're not evil). She was in a nursing home when this all started and got released about a month into it.

She just started going back to church a couple of weeks ago... Small church of about 30 people, but no one wears masks.

I'm her caretaker so I see her every day, and have talked about the risks with her. She told me "If the Lord decides it's my time, then it's my time. It's not going to matter if everyone wears a full haz mat suit around me.... I'd be mad at every one of you if you stopped visiting because of the stupid virus."

We stay away if we have sniffles or are sick, but we did that before all this. It's all ridiculous.

1
J3N93W 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's awesome. If a person even makes it to 94 then they have something about their constitution that most people don't have. Most of the very old folks know the sun is setting on them and they'd prefer quality over quantity in their last days anyway. Hope you have many more lunches with her!

2
ShadowyMrBlank 2 points ago +2 / -0

DeWine is a useless piece of shit.

1
makeanaccount12345 1 point ago +1 / -0

I honestly don't think Dewine will last much longer. Some states are opening up and Dewine is going to try to keep restrictions up for years? Are you fucking kidding me? He'll be booted out of office before his next election if he keeps up this bullshit. He'll learn real fast when the people come knocking on his door demanding his removal.

1
KnottyJane 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hope they do. I know John Becker tried with criminal charges but the judge around here didn't eveb look at them before they dismissed them.

It's just ridiculous with how low our numbers are. Our county is red, with a population of over 200k and 100ish active cases, most of which are in a nursing home. 15 hospitalizations, 0 ICU, and we're in single digit deaths most weeks, and have been for a while.

Part of the county is filled with doomer Karens, but luckily the rural parts all have figured out that this is BS.

1
makeanaccount12345 1 point ago +1 / -0

I just can't believe nobody has called him out on his deceptive use of statistics. It went real quick from number of deaths to number of cases. I don't give a fuck how many people catch it if it doesn't kill anybody. It's all a power grab. Dewine let the power go to his head like the shitty little RINO he is. Just need the people to actually come together. I've heard so many isolated cases of people pissed off (both online and in person), but there is no organization. If we had people organizing that'd be it.

5
pursuitoftruth1776 5 points ago +6 / -1

Let's be honest, this is due to Ron Destantis putting his foot down on this nonsense. Government has no place in forcing businesses to shut down. In America people decide for themselves what "risk" they want to take.

5
PapaPepe 5 points ago +5 / -0

Meanwhile in Chicago half my favorite places to go eat are gone forever.

5
Derelict_my_balls 5 points ago +5 / -0

Excellent. The dominos begin to fall. Next GA and AL need to unfuck themselves

5
n0kx 5 points ago +5 / -0

Great for most counties in TN but 5 of the 6 cities are run by Democrats. And we know how they’ll handle this.

4
Zerohunt 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fucking hell... Alabama just extended the mask law until November, too. Guess Alabama will be last, again.

4
theAvatar 4 points ago +4 / -0

Meanwhile, nearly every website I visit has this fucker’s “Face it: Masks Fight COVID-19” propaganda campaign and I still can’t shop or find work in Tennessee that doesn’t require a god damned mask.

Fuck him until he declares mask mandates over.

Trying to decide between moving to TN or NC. TN making a strong play here...

3
AngryDonut 3 points ago +3 / -0

TN has the same beautiful mountains as NC and none of the income taxes.

2
GPan900 2 points ago +2 / -0

Gov Lee introduced Constitutional Carry Legislation earlier this year. A permit is probably still a good idea so you can carry in other states. But I like the effort.

1
Opinionated_Ocelot 1 point ago +1 / -0

I guess it depends on your situation, but TN has no state income tax and dirt cheap property tax. Sure, my sales tax is higher, but it doesn't come close to the income tax for me. I believe we also have a law that prevents income tax from being introduced in the future too.

I think NC income tax is 5.25%. Moving there would wipe out the raise I received this year. For what? East coast politics? No thanks.

I'd also like to add that there are other quirks with NC, like the ABC state liquor stores and such. Nice state, but some laws/regs that rub me the wrong way.

4
cannoli9116 4 points ago +4 / -0

Unfortunately the bigger liberal cities (Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis, Nashville etc) will still be unlawfully restricted, I am happy that the rest of TN can finally get back to some type of normal.

Was on a call listening to Art Laffer the other day - he said "Tennessee is the state closest to heaven in the United States" - Today, Tennessee has proven that he wasn't wrong!

3
YUUUUGETURDS 3 points ago +3 / -0

Tell him to call McMaster. I wonder if he can get through.

1
SlickWillie 1 point ago +1 / -0

(South Carolinian here) McMaster is being kind of quiet about his policy or an official statement on the pandemic. Does anyone really know what SC's stance is?

silent_majority_2020 3 points ago +5 / -2

This is the way you do it. All 50 states (57 if you are Obama) need to do it this way.
