It's not bad to forgive them, if they ask. That's a good thing. It could very well be bad, to forgive them if they don't first ask; that can be Enabling.
You are cutting them slack; proferring grace. Remember they don't deserve that; they've shown otherwise. Your favor is yours to give, though.
