Fucking corporate recruiters in my company are horrible. Heavy equipment operator needed, sent me a short order cook who temped 6 months in a warehouse with some forklift experience.

I don't know who this is but I don't see anything wrong with him wanting to find a job in his field.

It's something called humility, if you're crying about "hard times" then go find a job doing anything. Don't sit there and beg for someone to find you a job in your field. It'd be different if he said, hey, I'm working on a loading dock but am still looking for a job in my field, instead, he begs for a job at a giant corporation.

I get what you are saying and I wouldnt be okay with him getting welfare instead of working. But going to work on a loading dock is going to make it harder for him to get back to working in his chosen field. It will be a strike against him when employers look at his resume and take away time from job searching.

You see, you're a great example of why America is fucked right now...1) no imagination and 2) You see some giant difference between someone who works 60 hours a week on a forklift and someone who went to a four year degree. You're exactly why I always push to hire and train 2 year degree people, because they'll break their back for you and not think they're too good for jobs. They've often got more common sense than Ivy League dipshits too. Back to your point, if someone asks you just say, hey, I was bored, they gave me an off business hours shift when I wasn't looking for a job, and basically paid me to workout for 8 hours a day, it doesn't change the fact I can pull a $15M B2B marketing attributable pipeline out of thin air.

I think you are jumping to some conclusions and your reply is a unnecessarily aggressive and personal. Chill out.

The point I think you are missing is this. He trained to become qualified in his career. He shouldnt have to immediately go work in something unrelated that requires no training.

You wouldnt tell an unemployed doctor to waste his education so he can go bus tables. I just don't see anything wrong with this guy trying to find another job in his chosen field, especially since he has a specialty.

Going to work on a loading dock will put food on the table but it will not help him get a job in the career he wants. In fact it will hurt him. Anyone who reviews resumes or does recruiting will tell you that breaks in someone's career especially where they went and worked in something less well paid or requiring much less expertise are red flags. Breaks like that suggest that the applicant is not good enough to make it as whatever field he is in, and so often leads to them not getting an interview.

Like I said, weak men who aren't willing to do the work to earn what they're given is why the US is failing
