Yeah, in my own personal gatekeeping mechanism if you support using the government monopoly on force to eliminate my rights at any point as an adult you either lack real empathy for the weak who need a force multiplier, lack understanding of the need for the fear of the citizenry to keep a government in check, and lack the internal locus of control to realize you and only you are responsible for your safety. Just an abject failure of American values, then promoted as immutable truth through the standard liberal snobbery in a large platform until you yourself is impacted.
