Despite the many people who died in nursing homes, probably who had really bad underlying conditions- (if you have never stepped inside a nursing home, then you have no idea of the degree to which they are able to keep incredibly medically frail people alive for years) many others actually survived including a relative of mine in her late 80s- with almost no symptoms. The mental toll of the quarantine and restrictions on visitors and socialization has been far far worse than the virus.
