The E-6 “Mercury” aircraft don’t carry the president. But they are able to communicate with submarines to launch strikes. As a related topic, the longevity of the Boeing 707 in military service (which the E-6 is based on) is a testament to American engineering.
I think the timing of all this is extremely curious..... and it should be especially so to anybody who's been paying very close attention to recent events.....
We don't play with shit like this by the seat of our pants. The orders for those planes were likely written 25 years ago. You have standard operations if X happens, Y happens unless otherwise stopped.
The US President was about to publicly announce an illness - that is the kind of thing that might make tiny countries with ICBMs and SCBMs trigger happy thinking our attention was diverted - if they didn't want you to see these planes - you wouldn't.
Nothing BS about it. However, it likely the standing operational order that has likely been unchanged since Reagan was in office that should the President be publicly announcing any kind of serious illness these planes get airborne and ready should an adversary choose to use the shift in focus to attack.
You don't get a second chance to deliver a first strike.

Indeed it is
