Another super common thing is that these "victims" can't properly speak in their imaginary attackers' voice. So you get weird, stilted stuff like "this is MAGA country" because they can't fully put themselves in the shoes of the people they invent to represent their opponents. I've seen fake hate crimes where white racists supposedly spray painted the gamer word on a black family's car (IIRC), but it didn't end in a "hard R" - if they were really evil roving racist vandals, why wouldn't the use the most offensive version of the word?
There was another one I really got a kick out of where somebody supposedly wrote "hey tranny, know your place" and "avoid being bitches" at Vassar College. Neither of those things sound like something a real person would write as hate graffiti - it's stilted and just "off". Of course it turned out that the one doing the graffiti was a tranny hispanic who was in charge of their "Bias Incident Response Team".
