Post-COVID and with the broad acceptance of remote work, I would think there would be a migration from locked-down states to places that remained free.
There are too many places in the US that are dark blue shitholes from top-to-bottom. From the governor to the mayor to the school boards there are plenty of places to live as an anti-American, anti-white, anti-male, anti-Christian bigot. These area reek of high COL's, social distrust, and race riots.
Where are the places that are red through and through? I want to join a community where trust is high and the are people strong and liberty-minded, and the biggest difference between us being which caliber we prefer.
Anyone migrate already and where did you go? Anyone planning on it?

West virginia is the only state that had 100% of counties go red in 2016. Beautiful state. Very lacking in work opportunities though. Has a good song about it.
Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather 'round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads
That's great to hear. I believe Oklahoma also had zero counties vote blue.
If I was an old man who was ready to retire, I would move to west virginia.
You're not looking for a place, you're looking for people. This makes your search much more difficult, but also much more rewarding.
I'd start by looking at the midwest and south. That's where you'll find welcoming and friendly attitudes. What activities do you like? Where do those activities happen? You want seclusion or suburbs? If you want a high trust community, family focused areas are going to be your best bet.
Or neighborhood scout, high crime areas are where the liberals are located. They're dark blue so it's appropriate.
States that would be the last to "turn" will be states like Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, the Dokotas, Wyoming, etc.
Missouri has a lot of lefties on the major cities. If there was ever a construction boom, then the state could easily flip.
Tennessee becomes more purple every year as people move to Nashville.
I think I would like Wyoming or the Dakotas.. just to cold for me.
Duuuuude I have the same question. Where are you considering moving OP? I'm in CA (bluest state in the nation), San Diego (not moderate or red like everyone says, we have the highest illegal population and is all blue).
Every Blue city in the blue states, look terrible. They all look like the ghetto, even worse than the barrios in CA.
I've considered the following:
Oklahoma suburbs near Oklahoma City. So cheap, and so beautiful. Just about the same jobs as San Diego (but pay is about the same)
Dallas Texas, most jobs related to my career, and cheaper than CA (more expensive than OK)
Houston or San Antonio, Texas, not as high growth as Dallas, but good enough.
I was also thinking Ohio, but kind of not turned off by the high crime in the state, (specifically where all the jobs are located)
Atlanta Georgia, a better Oklahoma (jobs prospects wise), but a little more expensive than OK.
I would avoid Austin, just as expensive as the poorest parts of CA, but no where near the amount of jobs as the cities near it.
Don't forget Tulsa. Old oil money buys amazing historic buildings.
Hot Springs, Arkansas is a lovely city that voted 64% Republican.
I was looking around the Tulsa area too, but it has ~40% less jobs than OKC area, that's the only thing turning me away from it. It would be a blood bath fighting for like 30 jobs.
EDIT: Or maybe I'm just being weird because I'm from San Diego. 1 opening here gets like 2,000 applications for a low paying job.
Unemployment is much lower in Oklahoma; Tulsa's unemployment rate was 6.1% in August 2020. OK City unemployment in July was 7.1%. Pretty sue both are lower now.
If you fly into DFW and rent a car, you can hit the north DFW Suburbs, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma has an amazing network of Native American owned and operated turnpikes. Yes, you have to pay but the roads are well maintained and there are friendly folks at the pay booths. Naturally, the Interstate system is free.
Right now I'm considering South Dakota and New Hampshire. I have a trip booked to Rapid City soon to check it out, and another to the coast of NH later on. NH locked down, despite its "Live Free or Die" motto. But I want to confirm the presence of free staters in the area. It seems like they have a liberty-focused activist community already established.
SD never forced businesses to close and didn't even make a distinction between "essential" and "non-essential" work. I also think it would be the last place a leftist would go.
Edit - I'm in San Diego too! I recently looked at houses in Santee and Lakeside (the last remaining red areas in town) but damn its hot out there.
Man if your remote work is for a secure, steady company. I would move to the cheapest, reddest county of a red state. Living in the exurbs or rural America would be a dream for me.
Honestly, I would never consider buying a house here. In a couple years I will have saved $300K. Even if I put it all as a down payment in CA, I will still have to pay 2700 per month on mortgage alone. F that.
I could buy an awesome house in OK ranging from 120K-170K with a huge yard IN CASH!!!!
The only places in CA, I can afford would be Menifee, but I would hate myself considering I would be so close to (but so far to) Temecula (the Dream Town). Unfortunately, Temecula's changed so much since I grew up, that now it's unrecognizable, so don't really care as much as I did.
But anyways Menifee is dirt cheap compared to the state at only $200,000-$300,000. But there are only like 2 jobs (within a reasonable range)!for me on Indeed LOL. Again F that. I do not want a 4 hour commute EVERY DAY.
Looking at the Los Angeles Times 2016 election map I couldn't believe how red the Temecula area is. My job has an office in Murrieta and I always thought that place was the last stop on the train out of California. Very nice, great schools, but hot as hell and you're not really in SD or LA anymore.
I agree with you to save up and leave. I own a home in SD but I wish I didn't. I live in a blue neighborhood in a blue city in a blue state. As you know the politics here are so extreme that it might as well be its own country. I'm about to raise a Trump 2020 flag on a 30ft pole so we'll see if I don't get my tires slashed here soon.
I have family in the suburbs of OKC and I may consider moving there too.
I know right? lol
My dude, if you got a house in SD, you are set for life anywhere. You can sell your communist house and move to your mini freedom mansion in OK. Get the waifu pregnant and have like 100 kids.

Soon enough bro, I'll be living the dream too.
LA Pede here - also interested in places to flee to as a refugee!
Including the advice I mentioned to OP,
Don't consider moving to San Diego, for some reason all of CA thinks SD is conservative, it's chicom propaganda.
Have to admit I thought it was more conservative than LA.
I might have to move down to Irvine after the lockdowns are over because one of my main freelance clients is based there and wants me to work from their office a few days a week. Orange County at least still has some conservatives, but I would like to get out of CA altogether.
Yea man Orange is "more conservative" as they still vote red in parts of it, but it's still turning blue slowly. The whole population of CA is expected to explode in a few decades, and if I remember correctly it was expected to double by...2040??? Definitely, don't want to live here if that's the case.
To better describe it:
LA is progressive (Bernie)
SD is democrat (Sleepy Joe)
Orange county (Arnold the Governator)
Both LA and SD are shall not issue ccw, but slightly more inland, they will like in San Bernardino.
To get a ccw here in SD (impossible) they require "objective proof" that your life is currently in danger due to past events. Which pretty much means you ain't getting one unless you died to criminals, but by then you won't need one anyways.
I definitely can't see myself staying here more than a few more years. My brother, who also lives in LA, is already planning his escape - not sure where he's thinking about going yet, but he makes a lot more money than I do and has more options.
Come to phoenix and help us keep it red.
It’s nice living in Utah. You still have morons and shitty people, as you will everywhere. But most people are pretty attractive and polite. And there’s lots to do.
I'm not sure why I didn't want to move to Utah, I think it was because the job outlooks were about the same as San Diego (not good, but UT has higher wages), or the housing? I can't remember atm
I moved to downtown St Louis and I may as well move to Illinois, there’s nothing to do here
Drive 60 miles down I-44 and you are in the Ozarks.
The problem is that I don’t work in the Ozarks.
Hate big cities, would never live in the city, but would live in the suburbs, because unfortunately cities have my types of jobs.
If you want it easy, move somewhere that's already based. But I'm not giving up the rest of the country.
Come to Colorado. We're going to unfuck this state. It's beautiful, but the leftist retards have been trying to make it into the 2nd coming of Calizuela. I'm collecting recall petitions for Polis every day, and the people I talk to are PISSED.
I admire your determination. If I had half the balls you have I'd be out collecting signatures to recall the hairdo.
I've collected about 150, so far, but we're just getting started. People are pissed.
Spain?? They are super Left wing compared to the USA.
I still have to convince my spouse, but once I find a new home I intend to become an activist in order to keep it great.
Related to what you're saying, one innovation I'd like to see is a state-run program to pay liberals to leave. Sort of like the exit package recently announced by Coinbase.
