before the election would help him get more votes because of the fact that the more a person listens to him speak from an unfiltered lens (as opposed to small soundbites with commentary from cnn) the more they start to like him.

if he were to do it after the election though then it would probably be a better conversation because he would have less on his shoulders and wouldn't be in campaign mode.
