They aren't... title is wrong. Remdesivir is not involved.

They are giving him synthetic COVID antibodies from a company named Regeneron. Basically it's the same stuff your body makes, but you take it immediately after infection before your body is able to make enough of your own antibodies. When you do that, it decreases the severity and duration of the disease because it gives your body a head start against it.

I had not heard that. All I can figure is that Remdesivir isn't contraindicated for early stage coronavirus, it's just cost prohibitive. Not really a concern when you are treating the President.
