Remdesivir is a treatment the works very different than HCQ/Zinc and it wasn't as far along in trials when Gohmert was being treated. HCQ/Zinc is more of a preventative that can be used as a treatment for some patients.

Plus it is crucial that the WH control the media narrative as best they can. If he does start to have a fever the optics of him leaving the WH in an ambulance or at 4am would be incredibly damaging. If he is already at the hospital then the narrative can not be spun by the media any more than they already will spin it.
