Seattle really messed up. Not only is Boeing moving, but all the companies in seattle learned they can have everyone work from home. Tons of people are just going to move to better states and work for seattle companies there. Soon those companies will leave as well to avoid paying those high rents and taxes
There is no income tax in WA, but the issue is that at some point the cost of living is so high in the metro areas that the total cost of living outweighs tax savings. I would love to be paying WA taxes here in overtaxed Utah. Our tax burden and cost of living have been rising because property values have been going up and the mantra here is "We are not as bad as California". Our legislators are gradually killing our quality of life. We already had a taxpayer mutiny in January when the legislature had a special session in the middle of the worst weather and holidays to try to sneak in a tax increase and we got enough signatures to kill it with a tiny 2 week deadline in the middle of blizzards. People were mad and not putting up with it. The next revolt may be something like Prop 13, they tried to jack up my property taxes 25% in one year. When a state is run by one party things get janky. We are a deep red state and the R's when they have full power screw up too.
Nah. Scottsdale is beautiful. Just stayed in cave creek for a month. Everything between Vegas, st George, South SLC, and Phoenix is drop dead gorgeous. Its all to die for, wish I could share my new views without doing myself.
