My father served two tours in Vietnam with the US Navy. He flew a POW MIA flag below our American flag every day of my childhood. As a teenager I asked him if he had regrets about Vietnam, the outcome, why we were there. “We lost,” I told him. He said “You only believe that because every one of your teachers is a communist.
