I think you misunderstand the type of traffic we have here now... There are always tons of new and newer users that are legitimate and may very well click those links without knowing better. We can't just sit back and expect them not to do it or at least know what it possibly means for them if they do...
We have to protect each other. We can't just stand back and let people walk unknowingly into having their passwords stolen or worse.
The mods have their job and we have ours.
Not to mention if that shit's going on that means there are always enemy eyes here and our folks are always going to meme them into a pile of salt.... Always.
I've seen well over a hundred "DON"T CLICK!!!!!!" posts and have yet to actually encounter the malware links. Mostly because I tend to stay in "Hot". Enough already.
