Permitting and construction to expand primer output takes years. There is no short term relief from domestic suppliers incoming. I heard there were a few shipping containers of primers headed to the US, but then did the math on it and realized that is less than a million primers. Not even going to make a dent.

We are in this for the long haul.

Its similar with powder. There are actually only a few domestic manufacturers of powder, and the civilian market is like an afterthought for them because of their military contracts.

If you're just now buying ammo, I feel bad for ya son

I've got 99 problems but expensive ammo ain't one

The worst thing about ammo is pulling the trigger and knowing you just spent a dollar...and then doing it 29 more times.

Your bullets are bigger than my bullets... :(

LOL

It doesn't matter, as long as you're having fun. ;)

The pain is real though, I never thought I'd see 9mm prices where they are right now, it's nuts. Been trying to help a friend score some 300 AAC for a few weeks and anything under $1/rnd sells out in minutes.

9mm is a myth at this point lol, might as well sell the gun

My local gun store had 5k rounds of .223 when i went in and I almost bought it when I bought my 300 AAC rifle...figured I'd just buy a new barrel/upper and have plenty, haha. They only had like 200 of 300 AAC so i grabbed half, left half for the next guy...

Bass Pro had a glitch with their old site which let people buy new rounds for 23cpr, so I topped back up. It was awesome, until one asshole complained that the website said $18.99/box and it charged him $19.99/box at checkout. "Glitch" was fixed shortly thereafter...fuck that guy!

You're a better Pede than I am, I would've cleared that AAC out, and the .223 too! lol

Half an hour of fun versus a lifetime of x rings.

Although I shoot most of the common cartridges and have adequate stock, one thing that has been seen is that "obscure" cartridges like 9x18 and 7.5 swiss are still available.

With AR's, 5.56 is preferred over .223 because its hotter.

Might explain the coin shortage problem. Melting down change to satisfy demand for ammo.
