Putting homeless people up in historic, relatively nice hotels in the middle of a nice part of town seemed so bizarre at first. They're terrorizing people living in the neighborhood, doing drugs and beating off right out on the sidewalk, and BdB doesn't bat an eye. The city claims it's all based on controlling the spread of COVID-19 and de Blasio demands that the federal government pays the bill. They dump criminals out of prison and into the streets while cutting the NYPD budget, which conveniently helps the city's budget shortfall. Property values plummet and those with money go on a buying spree.
