I was working on my family tree, and found out I've got a 4th cousin in Melbourne, Australia. Never thought I'd have a relative that far away. I'm in New York State. I've been following the crap that's been going on in Victoria with the lockdowns, and overzealous police force. It's crazy. Hope it's fairly normal where you are.
Hi mate, beyond belief what's happening in Victoria, and just when you think the Andrews government wouldn't dare go any further, they take it up another notch. Beyond literally arresting little old ladies sitting in a park, and arresting people in their own homes for merely sharing information about upcoming protests via faecalbook, they have already done away with the need for the fascist police force/enforcement wing to acquire judge-signed warrants before entering premises on "suspicion". The latest, even more disgusting affront to our society was announcing that they would deputise "suitable persons" -non-police, effectively deputising them- giving them the right to also enter premises without warrant, arrest and detain other citizens on similar grounds, ie. suspected non-compliance with their gleefully-draconian covid "measures".
That's right, these "suitable persons" can be literally anyone they decide to appoint, from union officials, stock-standard bureaucrats, teachers, medical professionals, you name it. These people do not have to announce themselves, have any specific training and are not even required to wear any identifying uniform while entering premises and incarcerating their targets. They are establishing their own Stasi, squads of what are effectively secret police and informants, setting up citizens, workmates and neighbours against each other. (This is in addition to new laws they enacted allowing children to be removed from their parents for periods of up to 30 months, uncontestable.)
It is absolutely chilling.
While I have been fortunate enough for my state to have avoided any of the horrific nonsense Victorians are putting up with, my elderly and frail parents live in Victoria, and for over 6 months have been unable to visit them at all, despite my siblings all living overseas. They have no one to look out for them, and my dad is in the final stages of a 25 - year degenerative illness. It is looking more and more likely that I won't get to see him ever again.
While they are allowing movie stars like Tom Hanks, and our proffessional sportsmen the freedom to move around whenever they desire, making their own quarantine arrangements etc, they are preventing ordinary citizens the rights to attend deathbeds, and funerals of their parents and immediate families. (Unless you are indigenous/aboriginal, in which case any such restrictions are waived, including police standing by for the local equivalent of blm "protests", while white Australians are literally arrested in their own homes, with tv news crews present, for even discussing protests online.)
Half of the media is going along with everything he does, uncritically. The taxpayer-funded leftist-run national broadcaster the ABC is pushing his propoganda and supporting these totalitarian measures 100%.
It is the most disgusting behaviour I have ever seen in this country. People are broken, upset and scared shitless of a fascist government, in Australia in 2020. It is surreal. I made a post way back near the start of TheDonald.win and the covid scam that what I feared most was how governments both implemented their new powers, and how these new powers would remain long after any covid threat had long diminished. I had no idea it would end up even worse than I feared.
I always used to make sure my kids appreciated how lucky and priveleged they were to be born Australian, the best, safest place to live in the whole world. Now, after barely 6 months the thin veneer of civilisation has been scraped away and I am embarrassed to be part of a society that has allowed this to happen. Victoria, my beloved home state to which I longed to return, no more. I still have not nearly come to terms with it, this new society with 1984 as a template, of grubby cops spying on private conversations and correspondence and then arresting and imprisoning people for un-sanctioned thoughts and ideas.

I posted one the other day from my local news about how when kids go to visit Santa Claus this Christmas, he will be in a plastic bubble! I love the ones where they report on the most outlandish, clown-world stuff as if it is totally reasonable and prudent. Some good dark humor in there, at times.
Anyway I'll keep my ears open. I listen pretty regularly to an Aussie guy, Max Igan. He's always got the latest news and videos of the craziness. He used to have a YouTube channel but I watch him on BitChute now. TheCrowhouse, his channel is called. He's not really a Trump guy but he has a lot of good info and I really enjoy his videos.

I knew it was bad in Victoria. I've been following Avi Yemini on Parler, and YouTube. He posted the video of the two little old ladies getting arrested for sitting on the park bench. I saw the video he posted when he got arrested. It was utterly disgusting, and deliberate. The last video he posted was of the police, first harassing, and then arresting a guy who was exercising outside with some of his friends. They were all socially-distanced. They ordered them to move along, and he challenged them by reciting the law, but they didn't care, and arrested him anyway. I think they fined him three times to the tune of $3,000. Yemini and others on Rebel News have a site for donations to help the people who have been fined for allegedly breaking Gestapo rules.
In his videos, Avi has shown the difference in how the police treat independent journalists like himself, and how they treat the main stream media. And the media there, and here are exactly the same. They are elitists. They look down on independent journalists, especially if they haven't graduated with a degree in journalism. In one video Avi posted, he was being questioned about his press credentials by police officers. He showed them his papers, but that wasn't enough. Eventually the media officer from the police department showed up, and was asking him all sorts of questions about his work, and then she asked him where he got his degree from. He asked her why she needed to know that. She got defensive, and he told her that it wasn't necessary that she know anything about his schooling, and that he wasn't going to provide her with that info. He was finally allowed to go do his job. Having worn a uniform myself for 25 years, I can't believe the power-trip these officers in Victoria are on.
I'm sorry to hear that you can't visit your parents during this time. That has to be very hard for you. I worked in NY State's prison system, and even the convicts got death-bed visits with family, or got to go to the funeral, escorted by officers. I don't know how they handled it during the lockdown, but I'm betting that, depending on what the person's sentence was, and what their security level was, they released them so he/she could go home. It was that, or they'd have a lot of convicts rioting. They catered to the bastards terribly when I was working, but I retired in 2003, and I know it's only gotten worse. NY State's Governor Cuomo released a lot of felons onto the streets, then murdered all those elderly people in the nursing homes. I wish someone would take him, and Mayor de Blasio out. I'm surprised nobody's tried, especially the law-abiding people who couldn't even visit their parents on their death-beds, or have a funeral for them. I'm still hoping the people of New York State will throw Cuomo out of office in the next election. We threw his father out back in 1994. It was the shock of his life.
My folks have been gone for years. My 3 siblings are gone too, so, I'm the only one left in my family. I'm 73, and if I make it to 74 next year, I'll have lived as long as everyone else in my family. I have two sons. One will be 54 next month, the other 50 in February. My oldest son lives 2 hours from me, and it was six months before I was able to go visit him this year. I hadn't seen him since Christmas. My youngest is in Indiana, and I finally got to visit him in August. I drove, stopped overnight at a hotel on the way out and back, ate at restaurants, and didn't get sick. My youngest son had surgery for cancerous polyps last year, and went through 6 months of chemo. He's been cancer free for almost a year now. If he had to get cancer, I'm glad it happened when it did, because at least he was able to get the care and treatments he needed. I don't know what would have happened if it has been this year. So many people went without medical care because of the fear the media put out there.

Yes I have kept up with a few of Avi's videos, and was most disgusted by the threatening visit he got late af night at his family home. Intimidation and gestapo tactics, pure and simple. I grew up looking up to and admiring the coppers but now view them with absolute disgust, unfortunately. I have family in the Vic Police, two first cousins, one of whom was a lifelong best mate. That has gone now; he has chosen to stay a part of that organisation despite what they are doing, and I can't abide it.
Horrible to think of all the surgeries that were put-off, seemingly permanently, all so the left all around the world could conspire to make things as difficult as possible for Trump. Absolutely despicable and unmitigated savagery.
