The bloodlust they have for the president having covid isnt my issue. Its how determined they are to make sure everyone is as susceptible to infection and frightened of being infected as possible. Like a part of their very identity relies on you having existential fear of something you cannot quantify that only they can save you from.
...Which parallels with their approach to race relations. Matter of fact.
This is my anecdotally based response just like the OP, and it depends on what part of the Internet you slum around in...and what you see.
I saw far less glee over RBG's passing then the zeal expressed in wishing the passing of POTUS by blue checks and MSM -types.
When in doubt, for those who can't figure out themselves and need a moral compass - follow Trump's lead - he knows when it best to apply sympathy and when toughness is in order.
He doesn't fall for emotional blackmail or blatant hypocrisy. Being honest and open without being a cuck or evil - that's the balance to strike!
I didn't approve of the gloating, but I don't think it's comparable. Unlike the left, Trump supporters didn't feverishly post masturbatory fantasies wishing suffering and agonizing deaths upon Ginsburg and her family, or post any evil, depraved, Satanic imagery and hexes against her. There was some grave dancing after she passed, but people didn't cheer while she was sick and dying. They just wanted her gone. They cheered the fact that her passing would open a Supreme Court seat and put an end to the damage she has inflicted on our nation.
Democrats are incompatible with a sane civil society, their whole schtick is "destroy and supplant w Satanism" They have to go, no matter what

I'm not sure we'll ever be rid of schadenfreude, it's just too pleasurable. Some people are good enough to rise above it, but it's hard.
I know when McCain went I couldn't help smiling...and I won't be able to avoid it for Soros or Hillary either.

That's a very good point, had not thought of it. On the other hand most people are not bothered by those being unkind.
You can’t be surprised a snake is venomous
