i think he may have underestimated Biden and over-estimated his own capability to win a fight that's rigged against him.
Dem's have played out Biden as barely holding it together, to the point where a lot of people did not believe him capable of spending an hour in front of a camera without dementia showed up. I think Trump fell for it and also believed that, so he agreed to biased moderators under the belief that the merely getting the debates to happen will be a win, expecting Biden to fall apart at some point during them.
Except Biden is not nearly as gone as we expected.
My remaining hope for the debates is that seeing all the moderates being grossly unfair will swing fence sitters to sympathize with Trump.
I’ll admit Biden was actually coherent, which I didn’t expect. I thought we’d get potato head. I guess they can’t drug him up like that all the time, only for special occasions. Gosh I wish these were all in the same week.
He was still not smart and was clearly overpowered by Trump. But it wasn’t as embarrassing for Biden as I thought it would be.
