Careful with too much IPA, all that phytoestrogen isn’t good for you.

I only drink IPA. Can you explain further if you're being serious?

Roger that! Thank you. No offense taken.

He's most likely referring to the amount of phytoestrogen in hops, which is pretty high.

Spez: A lot of foods contain estrogens, actually. I don't give them all up, I just try to moderate them, personally.

IPAs contain a shitload of estrogen mimicking hormones that some people claim give you bitch tits, aka ManBoobs.

Its not really proven, but of you drink a lot of beer and have man boobs, maybe lay off the IPA and switch to tea or whatever.

IPA drinkers rejoice!

From the end of that article...

That whole idea that IPAs give you man boobs rests on the idea that 8-PN is a phytoestrogen (which it is), but completely ignores that fact that the dosage required to cause problems in humans is unknown. And, there are more likely reasons for “man boobs” (fat) than a hop compound that can’t even be detected in many beers. In addition, lots of plants contain phytoestrogens and the amount we consume of these plants far outweighs the relatively tiny amounts of hop compounds in beer. (In a homebrewed IPA, you are talking about a few ounces of hops in 5 gallons (19 L) of liquid, and most of the plant material is left behind in the kettle.)

Actually after reading the comments I am not so sure there is much impact that phytoestrogens from beer has on our bodies. I can now continue to drink with less guilt. I do avoid anything with soy though.
