If you make five versions of the “same” film all with slight variations it’s the ultimate gaslighting technique. I'm ahead of the curve on that one. My knowledge of cinema stops around 2010, with the exception of the odd Tom Cruise film. He's a strange guy, but he's one of the rare few who seems to put everything into his films, rather than using them as a mechanism just to force feed social justice.
I watch maybe three newer movies a year now, and it's always at the behest of someone else. I don't have the heart to ruin it for them. Not that Hollywood hasn't been infested with rape-crazed communists for the past hundred years, but at least they weren't openly calling for genocide back then.

Not sure about this. At the end of the day, Hollywood really does like money, and if a lot of us start skipping the woke crap, I think they will react.

I'm more of a live and let live sort of guy, so I feel that if some people want to watch woke movies, they should be able to. I just don't want to have to watch them myself. Maybe a required "woke" rating or something, so that I'll know what to stay away from.
That said, I think Hollywood can smell a market for non-woke movies and will make them. The "Olympus has Fallen" franchise comes to mind. They made a lot of money, and I think the studios will keep making them. The market is there. Do the makers really care if they're not eligible for Oscars? I doubt it. Same for Tom Cruise movies. Does it really matter? Our money is green.
Yeah, those kind of movies aren't even making most of their money in the US any more. It's one of the reasons action/animated movies are the most reliable money makers. Comedies, for instance, are very culturally specific. But 'splosions and CGI work everywhere, and you can easily dub or subtitle them.
I still believe after enough 100 million dollar box office bombs they're going to knock this shit off. Especially when folks come around with the budget looking to make money and don't give a shit what hollywood or the oscars think.

Movie studios have suffered massive layoffs by shutting down all production for what will be at least a year. People who actually do the work on movies have had to move, change careers, this is in addition to highly skilled support tech folks that easily changed careers. “Hollywood” will not just “recover” from this.
There are thousands of movies from before the woke era. I’m happy sticking to those. And I can buy them used, which cuts Hollywood out of any profits.

That's a good point; assuming the ethnic make-up of the unions is generally the same as the country, when studies start filtering out workers on the basis of their race, sex, etc, there's going to be a bunch of people left in the cold wondering what the fuck they're playing union dues for.

Well if I ever pay for a movie again, it will definitely be one that isn't Oscar eligible. Movies that are eligible for the Oscars will be considered SJW films, especially if takes place before 2010. Unless it's the story of Harvey Milk or takes place in the Hood or some other country, there isn't an excuse for films to have that high a quota that Hollywood demands.
