Thats your best home defense tool right there. Nothing makes shit explosively exit the body faster than turning a corner and seeing a shotgun pointed at your middle. The .22 handgun is fine for personal defense in a pinch especially if they don't recognize its caliber. Just dump the mag into them they will fall down just fine unless its a drugged out crazy and even a .44 mag might not stop them quickly.

You can get birdshot. Slugs are running $2 per round. No buck anywhere.
