Sig, Beretta, Glock, CZ. All fine but relatively expensive. The one to buy is the one that fits your hand. I picked a Sig over a CZ and Beretta because the controls fit my hand better.
For ammo for the .22 I use CCI mini-mags. I did my own tests with 5 different brands, they give the best bang for the buck. Also, my .22 pistol likes them; .22 semi-auto pistols can be finicky on ammo.
That probably is the 92S. There have been a bunch of them running around over the last few years. True Italian-made Beretta, whereas the US models are made here. There's some differences between it and our 92FS, but half the cost of a new one. The 92 platform in my experience is reliable and accurate. If you don't like it you'll certainly get your money back out of it for that price.

I can't offer good advice on the Berettas, I never owned one. If some Pedes are ex-police or ex-military, they could offfer advice. The military had Berettas for sidearms for years, and I'm sure some got to shoot really old, beat up ones.
I’ve shot only two 9 mm’s, a plastic frame Glock clone and a beretta 92. Both are similarly priced. To me the beretta wins due to its all metal construction, proven longevity, double action/single action plus the external safety, whereas the Glock clone had the little barb on the trigger, which to me seems less than secure for carry purposes. Plus the beretta has a fixed barrel with a much less snappy recoil. Limp wristing was bad on the Glock clone but the beretta feels like it’s a lower caliber with much less recoil. Plus there are top marksmen competing with the beretta to this day so it’ll work for beginner all the way to expert. Glock I think is better for advanced shooters due to its less idiot proof safety mechanism. For anyone newish to forearms, having both an external safety and a long double action first pull make carrying a firearm less daunting.
I personlly like the Sig P226. Helluva gun. Not knocking the Beretta, I'm thinking of getting one. But if I had to choose only one pistol for doomsday it would be my Sig. I don't feel I need a safety on it, it's already double-single with a decocker. Again, it all depends on your taste and hands. I actually wish my thumb was a little longer so I could be more comfy with a CZ. Another good gun. One gun I will never buy is a Browning High-power. I shot the sonovabitch for 30 years. And all of them were worn-out pieces of crap the military gave us. Many people say it's a fine gun. But all I've known for 30 years were Browning falling apart on the range and the fucking bullet going down the barrel like a hot dog in a hallway.

I'd grab a $300 Beretta 92 series any day of the week, even the Italian police models with the awkward mag release.
